5.0 out of 5 stars effortlessy elegant!! The Rette come up trumps, December 22, 2001
By
This review is from: Tiger (Audio CD)
One of the masterpieces of the 90s!!. Tiger catches you immediantley with its great riffs hooks and pop. From the poppiness of "Touch Me" to the riff laden "Saskatchewan". Superette, calms, soothes with some beautiful melodic tunes. I will say this is my most played album of the 90s!!!, Great vocals with Mulcs, Greta and Ben all combining duties. If you like Superette's Tiger I suggest you get their "Rosepig" Ep as well and the "Touch Me" single as every Superette song is a marvel. I have the whole lot , but somehow this is NOT ENOUGH!!
We want more SUPERETTE!!
So If your tired of those...manufactured "alternative" bands give the Rette a whirl!!, original and delightfull!!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best bands out there!, July 29, 2001
This review is from: Tiger (Audio CD)
I feel sorry for people who haven't heard SUPERETTE. It's too bad more people don't know about them, because they're so incredibly talented. This is a great CD of theirs with a lot of stand out tracks: "Saskatchewan" is my favourite song of all time. The riffs and the drum on it are awesome. "Waves" is a slower, more melancholy song and is truly beautiful. Also, "Killer Clown" is a great track. SUPERETTE has a great way of telling a story with various styles of music. It would be a great idea for you to check this out. It's something that needs to be heard. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Under the radar grower, December 16, 2008
By
This review is from: Tiger (Audio CD)
Another high quality offering from the flying nun label, with Superette showing their range by moving from chord laden power pop in "Saskatchewan" and "Kiss Someone" to whimsy jangle pop offerings like "Bye-bye". Although the output is a little uneven, the sheer variation and change of pace means that there is plenty to like for most people, and it does unfold the more you listen to it. It's a shame that like so much of the Flying Nun stable, there was not more from them!
