SO MUCH AWESOMENESS - IT JUST GOTTA HAVE TigerBlood IN IT!,

This review is from: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters (Video Game)
When I was a university student I remember virtual reality Golf parlors to be the latest fad. So, during their lunch hour, executives would swing their irons in front of projection screens in order for them to improve their weekend play. Now, more than a decade later, the same experience can be reproduced in our living room.
FINALLY, A SHOT AT THE COVETED GREEN JACKET! The game includes numerous golf courses, including (finally) the... sanctum sanctorum, the Augusta National Golf Club, where The Masters take place. Appropriately, the career mod has been renamed "The Road to the Masters". You start low, aiming high and by either the hard way (working your way up the Amateur ladder) or the shortcut (duplicating 3 -out of possible 9- of either Tiger Woods's or Jacks Nicklaus' Moments) you can get invited to The Masters. Once you get there though, will you be good enough to be fitted with the Green Jacket? IT IS NOT REALLY A GOLF GAME WITHOUT A CADDIE, IS IT? A caddie is much more than a golf-club carrier. He or she is actually a teammate and that is why a good caddie will make the difference between winning and losing. You can option out of the caddie advice on clubs, power and path to follow - but I would not advise it, at least not for beginners. HAVE Balance Board WILL GOLF BETTER Now that both the Xbox and the PS3 have their own versions of the Wii remote (whereas, at the same time, enjoy higher resolution graphics), why should one buy this game on the Wii? Well, for two reasons. First, the Wii version of the game comes with 25 courses (almost twice as many as in the Xbox/PS3 versions) as the Wii, thankfully, is not DLC-friendly. And if that were not important enough, the Wii has a clear edge when it comes to the actual gameplay as well: standing on the Balance Board will check (and correct) your swinging posture! Keeping your eyes on the (imaginary) ball and then swinging your MotionPlus! remote works like a charm - once you get the hang of the physical movement/on screen mechanics. Now, you could play the game from your couch (by attaching the nunchuck extension), but I think that misses the whole point of a golf simulator, does it not? PRESSED FOR TIME? TRY ONE OF THE MINI GAMES! Tired of the pressure of getting invited to the Masters? Not to worry, the game includes a number of fun mini-games, such as Mini Golf, Disc/Frisbee Golf, Practice Facility and Golf Party. Overall, this is a great Golfing game, a game that fits the Wii capabilities like a glove and one I greatly enjoyed! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Best Version of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Yet!!,

This game is truly epic. Realizing that I will likely never have a chance play the real Augusta National course, I am in love with the fact that I can play and replay the home of the Masters Tournament as much as I like. I am also digging the new career mode as now you start out as an amateur golfer, make your way through the Nationwide tour before actually getting to the PGA Tour. Should really deliver a sense of accomplishment. I wasn't sure I'd like the new caddie they have included, but I am really liking it after playing a couple of rounds. I played the game off and on for years and I never really though of using draw and fade or even spin but after seeing the caddie recommendations you can't help but use it and it's only benefited my game...especially when I hit custom shots. A++ EA. Good work on this game. I will totally get my money's worth.

I've been waiting for the Masters for a long time and this game didn't dissappoint. There's so much cool stuff in here about the Masters. There's a new career mode where you have to try to reach the Masters on the PGA Tour. It's much more deep than in past years. I like trying to go through all the tours like a real golfer. Also, there are Masters challenges where you have to beat challenges of real golfers that are really fun. You can unlock behind the scenes stuff of the masters if you can 'master' them. I have only Mastered one so far but I will try to get them all. So much to do and disc golf is back too! I love playing disc golf. There are a ton of courses to play to. Lots to do here. I will update this review as i play through more of the game.

You would think, for a golf game, you would have a little bit more refined group of reviewers. So maybe you've had bad experiences with Amazon or with your English teacher who couldn't teach you how to spell. Sorry. Bottom line is this is a great--not just good--game for the wii. It has Augusta and 23 other courses, the President's Cup, Disc Golf, Mini-golf, nearly flawless online play (for the wii, it doesn't get much better), and all of the control that has been refined with each release of TW on the wii. It is an outstanding game. The only thing missing from previous versions is the Tracking Tiger, but this has been replaced with a "Course Mastery" system where there are about 25-30 goals for each course to become a master on that course. Lots of replayability and worth every penny.

This is a short review but I will put in my 2 cents.
I got this game from Amazon and it arrived very quickly. I'm not an avid golfer but I've been eyeing this series since Tiger PGA 10 but I did not have Wii Motion Plus. By the time I got Wii Motion Plus Tiger 11 was out and then I heard that Tiger 12 would feature all the great content of the previous games but will be set around The Masters AND Wii Balance Board support so I waited a little longer and boy am I glad I did! Tiger 12 for the Wii w/ Wii Motion Plus is one of the best golf games I have ever played. The game play options are very robust. You can tell the game developers have had some time to polish this formula rather than start from scratch from every release. I have only put a little time into the game so far but WOW! I have found the caddy very helpful and the controls are incredible! Even though there is Move for the PS3 and Kinenct for the 360 (although absent for Tiger 12 for some reason), Tiger 12 proves that when in the right hands, Wii Motion Plus can do more than just hold its own against the new motion controllers. If not convinced, just play Disc Golf with Wii Motion Plus. Disc Golf is just one of the bonus games but a lot of effort has been put into it outside of the game play. There are numerous courses available for it as well as with the main golf game. I was even able to play Disc Golf on my home town course of Torrey Pines in San Diego. I did not see this mentioned before but Tiger 12 also supports the Nintendo Weather Channel like before! It is pretty awesome to think that the course you are playing in the game has the exact weather conditions of the real course in real time! SWEET! It is little touches like this that make this game AWESOME! The graphics are also really good on my HDTV. Sure this is not a PS3 or Xbox 360 but how good does a golf game have to look? The game looks great and if you have an HDTV and you have not upgraded your packed in composite cables for component cables, it is definitely time for an upgrade so you can see just what the Wii can output. Plus, I don't know if this is in every game but my game from Amazon came with a free 1 year subscription for either Golf Digest of Golf World. With the Wii Balance board to help with my posture, the accuarate controls of Wii Motion Plus and my 1 year subscription to a golf magazine, I think I just might become a golfer after all :)

This game is awesome. Before you even go to the 'start' menu, your Tiger Woods and attempting to win his 5th Master against Anthony Kim. After you do that, you can start at The Masters, Play Now, Play Online, Game Modes, and Tiger Woods at PGA. This game is especially for the Wii Balance Board and Wii MotionPlus, use if you have them. The graphics aren't that amazing (it's a Wii game, what do you expect). You can also choose the difficulty of the other players and your play type. The caddies tips are very helpful, and you should definitely use the advice that he gives you. If you are an expert in golf, I wouldn't recommend using the caddy because he is only meant for beginners. I've only had it for a day so far, but I can tell I'm going to love it. I can't wait to start the Masters and beat it with Tiger Woods himself. I would definitely recommend to this golfing fans and others who enjoy fun, entertaining sports games.

The Tiger games have all been good but this one delivers. Like another reviewer, I too was hesitant about the caddie thing, but it's actively helpful once you get used to it. Plus, I admit I like the mini-golf mode! But those are small things compared to the ability to complete entire tours, just like the pros do. This game is DEEP!

For those who have played previous Wii versions of Tiger Woods for the Wii, it will seem quite familiar. Motion plus is still good, thought not nearly perfect. Swings will still occasionally mist hit for not apparent reason, but those seem to be less and less with each incarnation of this game.
I find the career mode to be a marked improvement, the more they tweek it the more I like it. The biggest selling point of this year is Augusta National, without it I would not have bought this year's version, as I already had 2011 and enjoyed it. It is a very good representation of the course, at least as I get to see it on TV as of course, I've never actually played there. The course is challenging and beautiful. Pros-Augusta National, improved swing mechanics, improved careeer mode Cons-Swing mechanics still aren't perfect, the motion controllers still need recalibrating more often than I would like. Buy it if you enjoyed previous versions, but want improvements, or want to play Augusta National.

This is the first golf game I purchased for the Wii. I really think the game is a blast to play, especially with someone next to you. But there are a few problems I found from playing this game.
1. If you are playing in the career mode, it is very difficult to set up the game so it is competitive. There are many controls to make the game harder or easier, but once you are in a tournament format, the opponents do not get any harder to beat. For instance, say you are playing a tournament and Tiger Woods shoots a -8 on day one of the four-day tournament. That is probably what the winner will shoot for the entire tournament. Whatever the leader shoots on day one is what the winning score will be at the end of day 4. 2. Graphics are good, game play is good, but do not, and I repeat, DO NOT listen to your caddy. He will tell you to swing away, or pull out a longer club, or you have a straight in putt, and he could be more wrong. He told me to adda club and I did and blew the green by 50 yards. 3. The announcers, well, you might want to shut them off. They say you hit it in the sand, and you are in the fairway, they say you are heading right for the hole and you are off the green, they tell you that you have driven the par 4 green when you actually just chipped on from the fring on your third shot, etc. 4. The game tends to freeze up at certain points in a tournament. And you can't just start over with that tournament, because it freezes at the same point every time. So you just have to move on to the next tournament. Don't get me wrong, Tiger Woods 12 is a lot of fun to play. But I would like to have a little more control of a few things. The leaderboard only shows the top 5 and where you are sitting, never shows the entire field. It doesn't let you customize the field. Doesn't tell you where the cutline is. I would recommend the game, but just beware of these glitches.

We sent the first game back-it kept freezing up, 10 times during 2 hours of play. The replacement game only froze up twice in 2 days, same play time.We have a tennis game by EA sports that has never froze up.We are keeping the replacement game because it is a lot of fun and has a lot of courses and other golf games. But it is frustrating when the game freezes up on the 8th hole and you are winning.Buyer beware
