I've been playing it for a little while now, and I have noticed that it is NOT surprising. Nothing will surprise you or WOW you in this game. It's good; it works; will definitely satisfy your desire to play a golf game on your PC, but...
I figured that they would spend a little more time and put some more effort into the stuff that matters instead of additional customizable details for your player's face and whatnot. Who cares? A scar? Whoop-de-do. 4,000 choices of clubs that all play about the same? Dozens of hats? Big deal. 1) We want the Course Architect! The skate board games have had that ability for years, and has become integral with the games. Why would you put it on SOME TW games and not this one?? Seems really cheap of them to leave it off. Are they going to ask us to buy it as an add-on? Good luck. 2) More natural ball movement and bouncing (i.e. when a real golf ball hits concrete it takes of like a rocket, but in the game it bounces and rolls like its in med rough.) 3) Hitting irons off of the carpet is no better than med rough? Since when? 4) The computer-driven golfer can often get stuck in parts of Central Park course. They choose to hit a ball in the rough with a 3W and it goes 3 feet only to have them turn 180 and hit it with a 3I and go 100 feet -- out of bounds. This repeats until the golfer concedes. The out of bounds on the 18th hole of Central Park green is inaccurate and absurd. 5) The mp3 for the creek/brook sounds like a skipping record. 6) When you play against a better golfer, but have them nerfed to 'novice', they will almost always hit the hole and roll over it if they are more than 10 feet away - you're pretty much guaranteed that. Gets annoying after awhile. 7) The people are obstacles, and seem to have some kind of sticky clothing?? Since when does a ball hit by a driver "land" on a guy's shirt? Or sort of stick to him and slide down? They people should have no surface and let the ball fly through them -- (most of the time) they would be moving out of the way during real golf. 8) How 'bout adding a golf cart racing secret code or something fun? I know you want it all serious and whatnot, but those that would like to pimp out a golf cart, jump one off a bunker or whatever could seek out the code. Those that are not into that could be none the wiser and still think it serious. I'm guessing that the "PGA" in "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07" is what keeps it pretty boring. Oh well, I'll have to look elsewhere for the fun in golf.

I own the 2004 version of the Tiger Woods, and figured it was time to upgrade. I bought this version after doing zero research, and I'm really disappointed. The graphics arent as good as the 2004 version. Ball physics are a little suspect, balls bounce the same regardless of the surface they hit. Ive seen back spin off a cart path. The game play is good, its keeping me interested, but the details are just enough off to be annoying.

1st I have to admit i have never played any of the other tiger woods series games and have nothing to compare it too or be dissappointed from. But it saddens that so many have not been able to enjoy such a great game.
At first when i installed and started playing i was dissappointed with the mouse swing so switched to 3 click, 3 click was also dissappointingly difficult for me, after a few hrs did i relize you can also change to two click as well, at that tym of change to two click the game was much much more enjoyable. With custom games, i play with freinds, to single player mode pga tour, and Team tour, this game is great! And when those cources got old that came with the game, i did a search for tiger woods 2007 cources and found a nice free site containing hundreds of more cources. Althoe it took a few hrs to learn to install the cources and library's it was well worth my time. Gameplay wise i find myself playing hrs in on out to build my players Attributes and get to the Legendary Tiger woods so i may win the game. At first the game was challinging, with no attibutes, but after weeks i found that the AI was not getting much more challenging but when playing a custom game,i can change the AI difficult level to expert "which didnt make much difference" but when i change the Golfer AI's Ability's then did i notice a respectable challenge when i was at high levels. Other wise the AI golfer will be pretty stupid. As far as stabilty of the game, i have played on three different Pc's all running XP/XP pro.On my girlfreinds 1.1GHZ Processor 128MB Ati video I had not one problem until i intalled additional cources then all cources of the game became nearly unplayable, until i uninstalled the custom cources, then all was OK Agian. When playing on 3.2 and 3.6 Ghz Processor with a 128MB and a 512MB video, i had Not one single problem even as i installed as many as 10 additional custom cources so far, it still plays great. All graphics cards i have used had the latest drivers and appeared in the readme file as a supported video card. Here is a list of the supported graphics cards according to the readme file on the disk. O BTW,I dont think this game supports any operarting systems other than windows XP, athoe i have played on windows 2000 pro/xp/xp pro without any trouble.. Supported 3D Hardware Accelerated video cards include: - ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500- ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 9600 - ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 9700- ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 9800 - ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (Laptop)- ATI Radeon 8500- ATI Radeon 9000 - ATI Radeon 9100 IGP- ATI Radeon 9200 AGP- ATI Radeon 9250 - ATI Radeon 9500- ATI Radeon 9550- ATI Radeon 9600- ATI Radeon 9700 - ATI Radeon 9800- ATI Radeon X300- ATI Radeon X600- ATI Radeon X700 - ATI Radeon X800- ATI Radeon X850- ATI Radeon x1300- ATI Radeon x1600 - ATI Radeon x1800- ATI Radeon x1900- NVIDIA GeForce 7950 - NVIDIA GeForce 7900- NVIDIA GeForce 7800- NVIDIA GeForce 7600 - NVIDIA GeForce 7300- NVIDIA GeForce 6200- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 - NVIDIA GeForce 6800- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 - NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 - NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900- NVIDIA GeForce FX 5950 - NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5300- NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5900- NVIDIA GeForce3***** - NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti200*****- NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 with AGP8X - NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4600- NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4800 SE - S3 Unichrome (MSI)- S3 Unichrome- S3 DeltaChrome- S3 GammaChrome - S3 ChromeS27

It's pretty evident why this game crashed in price so quickly - it's no improvement over the 2004 version despite EA having 3 full years to give the series more gas.
It looks the same, plays the same, takes away the Hawaii courses and actually seems to play a bit slower even though I have a fairly robust PC - Core2 6300 + 7600GT Overclocked + 1.5GB RAM. At $20 or less it's pretty much a disposable game, and for first time buyers you might as well take the plunge. For upgraders, you should wait, and continue to enjoy the 2004 version.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 - A Real Dissappointment,
By

This review is from: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (DVD-ROM)
I own every version of the TW series from 2003 to 2007. Here is an honest look at the 07 PC version of EA Sports latest golf sim. On the plus side; new lighting techniques as well as improved textures with grass and water have improved the overall appearance of the game significantly. It helps to have a higher end video card in order to fully appreciate the new look. As far as the CD version versus the DVD version of this game. I have never seen a CD version and would not know where to purchase one. When this game was released in October of 2005, it was so full of bugs that it was almost laughable. Only funny if you did not invest $35 plus and received the game as a gift. The most obvious flaw is the fact that the game chooses to ignore the most fundamental rules of golf. It will call balls out of bounds that clearly are in play, and will give you free drops with no penalty for balls that are clearly out of play. The Antialiasing settings on your graphics card are not functional within the game therefore creating jagged outlines arround bunkers and other terrain. In the past, all previous versions of TW were Beta Tested and not released before most problems that arose were fixed prior to the game's release. For some reason, there was no Beta Testing done on the 07 version and therefore none of the problems within the 07 version were ever taken care of. Not Beta Testing, I think was EA's way of implementing cost control. There supposedly is a patch for the game in the works from EA in an attempt to at least repair some of the most obvious bugs. If you are a fan of the TW series, you are familiar with the Course Architect that is available for download from EA usually 30 to 60 days after the games initial release. With the Architect you are able to design your own courses. There are hundreds of custom courses available on the net that other people have created and most of them are better than the Stock Courses that come with the game. EA in their wisdom have chosen not to release a Course Architect for the 07 version up to this point, and talk has it that it may never be released. The 07 game manual clearly advertises an Architect for this game, allowing you to create your own designs. This has become a major issue because although most designers have adapted the 06 CA to work in the 07 version, there are visual flaws such as visible Pano seams and the overall sub standard look of the water textures used in the 06 to 07 conversion courses. The problem lies in the new lighting and pano techniques used in 07 that the 06 Architect is simply not capable of dealing with, resulting in small visual glitches throughout most if not all of the conversion courses. To sum it up; If you can buy the game for under $20, buy it. It is worth the money just for the overall improved visuals of the courses. Infact, the Stock Courses are better looking than in any previous versions. Unfortunately, the Audio Commentary is last years (identical), the Gallery if used are the same cloned stick like people as in the 06 version. In my opinion, the Platform version of this game markedly better. You get more courses, as well as better looking Galleries and overall animation. The quality of the PC version suggests to me that EA is not really concerned anymore with producing a great TW game for the computer player. Their concentrated efforts seem to be more directed towards the Console versions of this game. The reason; more provitable would be my guess. I know this review is rather lengthly but hopefully helpful to some of you, in order to make the educated decision on whether to purchase this version or wait till next year, if there is a next year's version. There are numerous other reviews all over the net in regards to this game, so if you are really interested in this version, check out all other reviews starting with the EA Sports Web Site under the Forum header.

For once in my life I actually understand now when people write `If I could give it zero stars I would.' This version of TW is not fit to be a coaster on a table. I think the people of Electronic Arts owe everyone that bought this trash an apology, as well as a refund. It's Ironic that they do not even print an e-mail address in the manual for this game to contact the customer support department. The only true way to get a hold of them is to create an account on their website. Here are my complaints about the game:
1st It doesn't work, when I mean it doesn't work, it wont boot in three of my computers, all being well above the minimum in system requirements. 2nd in the single system it does work in, you must disable everything in the startup using msconfig and reboot the system with nothing running on the system, meaning zero firewall, zero AV, nada zip zilch. 3rd you must be running current drivers on EVERYTHING, or actually I found it that through updating my single systems DirectX to version 10, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS card and as well as my Radon x1650 it finally work, when I included the 2nd step above, mind you this was only one single time. It never worked after that. I went so far as to rebuild the one computer fresh that is did work on. I figured well, it's been about a year I'll freshen up the computer with a new install of XP on a formatted hard disk with all the patches. It never worked again after that. I know this will more then likely fall of deft ears and EA junk creators will never see this which is a travesty, because I know that if I sold a product such as this or did not care to support it I'd be out of business. It is in my book the biggest piece of trash someone could every buy. PLease dont waste your MONEY or time on this product.

I never played TW 2006, but I do own TW 2005 and this ( TW 2007 ) is a big improvement over that. It has more courses, and some are very challenging. The team mode is a nice addition, I have not tried the online play. I have only had this for about a week, but I have put many hours into it, it is fun. I do wish it had some type of indicator to help you aim on holes that you can't see where you are going. I remember the old Links golf series had a pretty good one. TW 2005 was too easy, this version is a lot more challenging.
