You take a knee and survey the 18th green. Your ball is 20 feet from the pin, and the green breaks to the left. As you approach your ball you can feel the weight of the nation on your shoulders. Gripping the putter, you breathe in deeply and exhale as you begin your backswing. The putter strikes the ball and it begins to roll. Rising to their feet as the ball dances across the green, the crowd's cheers begin to swell. Ten feet to go. You watch the path of the ball as it approaches the hole. Five feet to go. The ball hits the lip of the cup and softly drops in as the crowd erupts — you've just won the Ryder Cup.

I will start by saying that I'm a fan of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise. The best years in my opinion were the last couple (09 and 10). With last years game being so great, I was excited to get 11. I was disappointed to say the least. EA try to do too many changes... some were helpful but most changes took away from the game. I'll just go with the old and trusty pro and con list.

Pros:
Addition of the Ryder Cup
Sharper graphics
Better online play
Face maker is a little better but still lacking.

Cons:
EA went to an XP only system which is spent in skills and pro shop items... In the older games, I enjoyed making money and buying new clubs etc, also making loads of money just like the pros, especially during the majors. Now you have to focus 100% on putting your XP into skill and it doesn't seem the big tourneys make a difference... Why the change????

Ghostly limbs will grab your ball out of nowhere.

Making your player better through XP points starting out isn't realistic... You pretty much put all your points into power to have a chance in tourneys.

Where's Augusta? How hard could it be to get that license? No Masters this year....

EA still haven't fixed the view problem... the one I'm referring to is the when you hit the ball on certain occasions, the view changes to something way in the distance and you can't see how to spin your ball.

Ryder Cup takes a long time to play, 80% of the time is being spent watching the other players hit.

A Downloadable course is available... 1 course for 800 MS points!!! Why?

I am very happy with the changes EA has made from last year. I only play on Tour Pro and like the game to be challenging meaning no spin after the shot and all the power boost stuff. The addition of the true aim makes shooting under par a challenge. No more aim circle for perfect shots.
The graphics don't look much better than last year to me. Having a moving sky and variable winds is a nice touch though.
I actually really like the XP system. I can now have some control over how skilled my created golfer is. The game stopped being fun in the past once my guy was hitting 350 yard drives all the time right down the middle. I can now keep the game realistic where my scores are not -18 every round.
The only negative I can find is the price of the DLC which is stupid because you can't use it in your season and is no good next year. I would also like to see a patch for true aim that shows how far you hit your drive.

I bought '11 when the EA servers stop supporting online play for '08 and the changes from then are pretty drastic. I've never been a thumbstick player, so I was relieved to find out that the three-click method is still alive. The graphics seemed to have improved and the courses a little harder, but that could just be me used to playing with my previous maxed out character. There is no money involved in '11 its all based on XP that you earn while playing. You spend your XP on you players attributes and anything from the pro shop. There are still challenges online as well as in the game menus. One thing to note that was new to me is EA requires an online acess code now which comes with the game if you buy NEW otherwise if you buy used you will have to spend an extra $10 at GameStop or EB. The swinging pattern is now in a circle vs a linear fashion in '08. If you are looking at "2012 the Masters" something to note is that your player and atributes are able to be imported from '11. Overall I'm pleased with '11 in contrast to '08.

Two things I'm going to say for this game.

1. Putting Suc** - focusing 98% on the "putting meter" than on the player/club itself when putting.

2. XP points - what a load of crap. ***Wheres the money????

Everything else I'll go a long with.

***Buyers, wait till next year for PGA 2012, maybe it's be better, but for now PGA 09 is what I play.

Excuse the bad review title. I try to be creative...
The Tiger Woods franchise hasn't been known to revolutionize the golf genre, or does the series contribute enough new material for casual fans to buy a new copy every single year. With the Tiger Woods franchise, your better off skipping buying it every other year. Trust me, you wont be missing much. Hardcore fans on the other hand, you may buy it regardless.

TW11 brings some major improvements in the realm of difficulty options. The True Aim camera does create a slightly more realistic approach to setting up your shots, and causing players to remember to adjust for carry + roll. While this is a worthy addition, it still has some flaws. Instead of the camera just switching to a first person perspective of your golfer, it zooms slightly in , past the golfer, and they stays in place regardless of what's in front of it. At times, grass or hills can block your view entirely. In these instances, your golfers actual view is much better, but the camera detaches in such a way that you cant even see where the ball landed. At least you don't have to actually search for the ball, and your comfortably set up for your next shot. Still, this can be annoying when hitting out of bunkers and the camera zooms into the sand or grassy hill leaving you blind of where the ball ended up. I feel this is something that certainly could have been fixed if EA had taken some time to perfect this new camera system, which they obviously did not spend much time on.

EA finally realized the clouds in the sky never moved, and the clothing on the golfers never moved, and so we are now able to see the sky change throughout an 18 hole round, and our clothes blow in the wind. Is it cool? Sure.... but you'll soon forget all about it.
