5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!
This game is fantastic. I have almost as much fun playing this as real golf. The options are limitless: you can play 15 different courses(and more can be downloaded), you can play match play, skins, stroke play, and more. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great golf game...until it crashes
I was attracted to this game by its amazing value. There's a ton of great courses and the Tiger Woods 99 game in one package for like $15. I've played PGA Tour '96 before and enjoyed it. I figured this would be a huge improvement.

It is. The game has excellent graphics, sound, and all that stuff. I love the ball control. It is easy to hit about any shot you...

The course replicatoins are very realistic and even downright beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great golf simulationand what a bargain!, April 29, 2000
By
This review is from: Tiger Woods PGA Tour Collection (CD-ROM)
This has got to be one of the greatest computer game bargains of all time! You get the golf simulation "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 1999," plus 15 add-on courses, all for the price of one mid-priced game. The "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 99" simulation is fantastic. (In fact, in some ways, it plays better than its successor, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000.") You're able to select from 8 different pro golfers, including Tiger Woods himself, and, with the 15 added courses, there are a total of 22 available for play. Graphics are brilliamt, as always with EA sports games. Ball physics are very realistic. There are enough options to make the game play just the way you want it to (yes, including the "power meter" option, which allows you to see how high to swing the club...it's an option you set up for each golfer.)

I've been a computer golf addict for many years. "Tiger Woods PGA Tour collection" is the best golf simulation I've used yet. It's the easiest to set up, the most realistic, and...well, simply the most fun to play!

All-in-all, this is a great game....the only complaint I have is that it lacks some of the more precise realism common in some of the newer games. (i.e. the physics of ball flight, weather influences, etc.)

It is easy to hit about any shot you desire. Much easier than in Links 2000. There's also the power guide which shows you how big a swing to make. It's better than guessing and sending a chip over the green. It's tough to find Internet games unless you're entering a caseladder tournament.

The game has a problem though. IT CONTINUALLY CRASHES, freezes my computer, and I have to turn it off. Sometimes, I can't even get off one shot without it freezing. It makes me scared to play the game. I've contacted tech support about this. I was amazed by the numbskullery of the tech support guys. Their response time is exceedingly long and help is pretty much limited to them reading off a FAQ sheet. They've offered to send me a shrink-wrapped copy to return to the store.

Let me put this in perspective. I meet and exceed all system requirements. My computer came out on the market after this game hit shelves and was a "high end" computer then. I've read that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 has a hard time running on today's power desktops. Why would EA make the same mistake twice. Amazon shows Tiger 2001 is scheduled to be released soon. I hope the system requirements won't include a Cray supercomputer!

This is a great bargain, only if you have the power to run it.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent game!, June 23, 2000

This is a very fine golfing game, and drives out all other games in its class. The golfers (especially Tiger) look very real as they hit the ball, and the victory jigs are excellent as well. This package comes with about 15 add on courses to play, in addition to the courses already included with the CD-ROM. They're all brilliantly rendered, and, while the graphics are a little bit out of date, are still amazing.

It has the best game play in its genre, and you can finish 18 holes of golf in under 30 minutes. This makes it easier to finish a round once you start, since the game rolls along pretty smoothly. You can also pick from a variety of PGA golfers, and different game settings such as Tournament, Stroke Play, and Skins game to name a few.

A very good buy for the money. Well worth it!

I must say this game has it all. Coming from a person who doesn't play golf I can say now I feel like going out and buying a set of clubs. Fantastic courses and the online play is out of sight.

I loved playing PGA Tour 96 for the last two years and figured that another golf game by EA would be a good one. I was not disappointed. The addition of 15 PGA Pro courses designed with more real-life terrain, sand traps, and water wholes was a big step over the two less graphically enhanced courses offered in PGA Tour 96. Balls actually roll down hills, curve around a valley and off into the rough, or back down a steep slop past where you were actually hitting from (if you made a bad shot.) In addition, I like the fact that you can but back spin and fade on your ball, which you weren't able to do in PGA Tour 96.

Overall, I have only three main complaints about Tiger Woods PGA (and several minor complains that I won't mention.) 1. A bar doesn't automatically appear on the swing meter to tell you just exactly how high you should let your swing go before you click and bring it back down, like it did in PGA Tour 96. 2. The aiming arrow is really weird and slightly hard to use both when I am smacking the ball around on the course and when I am putting on the green. I have missed several shots because the aiming arrow was in the wrong spot. Additionally, there is no commentary on the green telling you in which direction the ball is going to break (commentary that is needed for those of us who can't seem to read a green.) 3. There isn't as many pros to "play as" like there was in PGA Tour 96.

1.0 out of 5 stars Crash City, June 5, 2007
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tiger Woods PGA Tour Collection (CD-ROM)
I bought the Tiger 2007 game for the PC after playing the Xbox360 version. There is no comparison. The PC version contiously freezes my computer (which meets and exceeds the recommended specs) and was a waste of money. Sometimes it plays for 20 minutes without killing my PC (TOTAL FREEZE or shut down) and sometimes it just takes turning it on.

I will never buy another EA game for the PC again.
