Have been playing Tiger Woods Golf for years. This year was such a disappointment from the play aspect. My husband and I played together, being a guest on each others careers. The only way to play together is the play now option. This makes it a singular effort to complete your career matches. It seems to me all ps3 games are more geared to playing online instead of playing with friends. Why do we have to loose that aspect just to get better graphics? The game face has been overhauled and is more realistic and you can even load a picture of yourself. Change the way modifers are applied to your player. They brought back the 3 click (when you had the bar to swing with)

This game was rushed.

I've played every version since 04, and this one is the first that didn't improve from the previous version.

Pros:
1. Improved graphics
2. Improved sound
3. Improved Tiger WOods CHallenge

Cons:
1. Slowdown, inconsistent frame rate
2. Controls are horrible unless you are on the easiest difficulty setting
3. Commentary has nearly the same dialogue as 06 and 07.

Here's hoping TW09 isn't rushed, too.

We should probably stop supporting EA's yearly release schedule. At least with TW they added new courses instead of just new players (which seems hardly a big incentive to me). But, if it weren't for the red shirted Tiger on the front I could have sworn this was TW2007.5 instead of an actually game. They could have just sold it for 20 bucks for add on courses and that would have been honest business at least.

The PS3 version is terribly slow. You can tell this was an Xbox 360 port to PS3 instead of the other way around. In the end I just couldn't keep playing it with the horrible load times - just to boot up the game and get in and play took entirely to long, then if you made a mistake and select the wrong option in your hurry to actually play - it's time to do it all over again.

I think the biggest tell tail sign is when they moved the same commentary from 2007 to 2008. This is what happens when you must get a game out each and every year.

I'm going to get Hot Shots: Out of Bounds - which at least looks like they tried to create an actual game instead of $50.00 expansion pack. Don't buy (at least not for $50 dollars).

Gabe and Tycho said it best. It sucks that you have to play hundreds of hours to make computer Tiger Woods like Tiger Woods. You have to unlock everything before the game becomes any fun at all. I dont have the time or the patience to commit to that kind of time when I should be working on my REAL LIFE GOLF SWING!!! When I buy a golf video game I shouldnt have to work harder than I do in real life at golf.

In real life I can hit 300yd drives. In Tiger Woods Golf how many hours and wins do I have to stack up before a driver will pass 275yds???? I can hit that with my 3WOOD!

I love the graphics, and I love playing video game golf on a rainy day when I cant do the real thing... but I HATE paying so much money for a game I have to UNLOCK to have fun with. [...]

Very good game, a little difficult to control at first, but it's a good entertainment.

When I first started playing this game I was def wowed. I still enjoy playing it very much. Right now for a price of [...] there is no reason why everyone should not have a copy of this game. Not quite perfect as rarely your ball will end up in a place that it wont be removed from, ie the woods or a bush. But other than that there are alot of multi-player games on this and then the campaign mode is a blast as you can adjust how many matches per competition. Get your hands on this game

Nice game, but the default control mechanism sucks. Every time, I have to change it to the 3-click method. Also, my thumb isn't used to 3-click, so I think it would be easier to play the game with a mouse.

I purchased this game to play a friend online. This was the first game I have played online against someone on my PS3. It's great to play online, however inviting him to join a game can be tricky. I have to invite him. Then he leaves the room, and then joins back in. We may be doing something wrong, but we eventually get it going. The face creator feature is neat. You can create a character using a digital photo. It takes some time (10-15min) for it to create your face initially, but it's worth it. The Tiger challenges are tough, but it helps you to improve. Overall, I like the game and would recommend it.

Purchased Tiger woods 08 on ps3 Cool game able to upload digital image of myself and then play Groovy. Was unsure if playable as im in New Zealand but works fine. Must buy

I have Tiger on PS2, PS3 and DS and to be honest i liked it. Its pretty much the same as 2007 but with better graphics. It is tough i will admit that but its the learning curve game. As i have played all the other TWs games it was easy for me to get into it. The commentary is pretty much exactly the same as 2007, the addition of the gallery is fun - i found myself wanting to hit them to see what happened! The best part is the game face option - i put my head on it and well it did pretty good in turning me into me - yes i look like a giant chin! I liked it, i am addicted and i will keep coming back and especially with the option to download new courses its a game thats going to keep on growing!
