If you have ever enjoyed anything to do with golf then get this game now! This is by far the best golf game I have ever played. I played Tiger Woods 2002 ALOT! About 8 hours a day for about 4 months. I loved it but it wasn't without its issues. I rented Tiger Woods 2003 and it was fun but it seemed like a typical update. A couple new courses etc... But 2004 took me by surprise. There's just SO MUCH added to this game. Lots of courses to play, Tons of goodies to unlock, graphics are great, gameplay is great. Plus there's online play and it supports voice if you have a USB microphone. There's also new tournaments daily online. You can actually play through an entire PGA season too and earn sponserships from Nike, adidas, Taylor made, etc... This game is great. The customization of your characters is amazing too. You can create your own golfer and they went overboard on this ability. You can create a golfer that looks at least 90% like you. Sometimes 100%. Depending on how you look. In addition there are all kinds of accessaries to buy. Balls, gloves, hats, watches, glasses, lucky tees, shoes, clubs, shafts, grips, etc... These items add modifiers to your abilities and with so many available you'll be playing for days to unlock them all. There are also real time events to unlock special equip. These events only occur on specific days and it works with your PS2's internal clock. I already played the halloween event and got a shirt to wear that celebrates the season. If you haven't stopped reading and ran out to get this game then GO NOW!!! While there are still copies left on the shelves!!!!

Tiger Woods- BIG HIT,

I have been a big fan of the recent "Tiger Woods" golf series for Playstation 2. The newest installment to that series, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004" is an awesome game. I own the 2002 version and have played the 2003 version, but the newest version blows both of them away. For starters, Gary McCord (current PGA announcer and former player) has signed on to do the commentary. BIG step up from the voices from the previous versions that tended to get very repetitive. David Faheretty is back to do the play-by-play analysis. He does good work. A ton of new courses have been added, both real and created. Pinehurst #2 is probably the most notable, along w/ the famous public course Bethpage Black. Along with the new new courses, new players have been added. John Daly makes his appearance, as well as Retief Goosen and others. Career mode is a new feature, allowing a player to play through a 10 year career. It's a nice feature, better than the previous tournament mode. There are no more 18 hole tournaments for a couple grand to the winner. The match play mode has been improved, sending you all over the world map playing in various "regions." Defeating a player at each level of each region is the goal. Overall, INCREDIBLE new game, a must buy without a doubt for any Tiger Woods series fan AS WELL AS anyone that thinks they might enjoy a "golf" game. Best game of the series by far. Get it!

I don't even want to begin to speculate on how much time I spent playing Tiger Woods 2003. Suffice it to say that I played the game to death, and was eagerly awaiting this newest installment. Fortunately for me and thousands of other fans of the series, TW2004 is a great improvement over its predecessors, and promises to provide even more enjoyment than the original. One of the best new aspects of this game is the career mode, allowing you to play a series of seasons and participate in countless tournaments. The new World Tour mode is also new, providing a chance to unlock a number of new courses and players. The real-time events were a nice touch as well, allowing you to play over a period of time and participate in events exactly as they happen. In addition, you can now earn sponsorships if you play well, and you even get one of these if you have the 2003 version on your memory card. As far as the added playability is concerned, there are two major things which, for me, will make this a game which I will not quickly become bored of. First of these is the new pro shop. On TW2003 I finally got to the point where my character's attributes were maxed out, and I had a bunch of money I couldn't use. With hundreds of items at the pro shop, this isn't likely to happen. The other great feature is the new series of trophy balls, the chasing Tiger balls. Over the course of your career, if you can rack up stats more impressive than Tiger's (not an easy task), you can earn a bunch of new trophy balls, thus giving long-term players something to aim at. My one complaint with this game is a major one. You can no longer play tournaments with more than one player. That, for me, kills a lot of entertainment value, since my friend and I played lots of tournaments together. This setback is unfortunate, and is a large blotch on what would otherwise be a perfect game. Despite this setback (a large one for me, but an insignificant one for someone who generally plays by himself), this is a great game. The series just keeps getting better.

Electronic Arts has earned a reputation as being a premier company of video game sports titles and rightly so. Each successive year of expanding and modifying their games, they continually break new barriers and push the limit of entertainment even higher.Following the highly successful release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003, EA continues on with its 2004 version and its new features are setting it up to be the one and only golf game you'll want to own and play. Utilizing the power of the Playstation 2 hardware, the following new features should make for a dynamic and exciting golf experience that will leave a lasting impression. 19 courses (all courses from Tiger Woods 2003, 5 new PGA courses, 2 new fantasy courses) Career mode offers an actual 52 week PGA tour schedule and the ability to earn sponsorships along the way Tiger Challenge is now replaced with World Tour Mode that allows for greater variation in game play The Create-a-golfer mode let's you morph a very realistic golfer into what suits your tastes to include clothes, facial features, skin tone, tattoos, headgear, and more A huge pro shop to buy hundreds (yes, hundreds) of sponsor related apparel, equipment, and even character animation sequences 15 PGA pro-tour characters along with 12 original characters to play as Online play modes for the Playstation 2 Improved graphics above and beyond Tiger Woods 2003 With this much to offer and riding on its already excellent reputation and past track record, Electronic Arts has given golf fans a sure-fire winner in Tiger Woods 2004. It's going to be gorgeous and a whole lot of fun.

Every year this game hooks me and I have to force myself to stop. This game obviously simplifies golf because golf is a cruel and maddening game. They left that part for the PC users. The console versions are a lot easier... and that's just fine. Since I don't want to waste time listing all the superlatives around this game because it would take forever... I will simply mention it's one and only flaw. It becomes to easy because of the attribute system.Use your money directly on attributes, equipment and clothing by winning in the World Tour and in no time at all you hitting in the 50's on calm days and low 60's on stormy days on professional courses. This tended to make career play boring as I was finishing tournaments -60. But to be fair to this "problem", I could just have easily turned off my "caddy tip" and relied on the green grid for putting (kind of like the PC version) and that problem would virtually be solved. That's it... one problem... and it's solveable in the settings menu for those who enjoy the simulation aspects of the game. Kudos to EA for the hard work and obviously talented people that made this gem.

This game is a lot of fun to play, but it does take a little time to figure out the maneuvers. There are scenarios to practice skills to make your player very skilled. Also you can make your character look pretty close to your own image. It is challenging and very addictive. Fun for both males and females.

EA has done it yet again!! I have been playing Tiger since it hit PS1. Every year has gotten better and better and this year has simply gone above and beyond!! In the past you could earn money until you were blue in the face and all you could do with it was buy attributes. This year is a whole different world!! The amount of equipment, apparel, accessories, and other things that are now available for purchase are never ending. The new courses added are awesome and the old ones are a blast as usual. All in all this game is great!! There are only a couple things that I would like to have seen included or changed. First and off its a real bummer that you can not play in tournament mode with your friends, only solo. The second change is I would have rather seen a bunche of newer courses and just a few of the select older ones. Other than that its great and I look forward to my upcoming tour. One last thing the real time tournaments and challenges are awesome!!

EA Sports has whipped yet another juicy title for us to go crazy over. An expert at the sport's genre EA has always excelled in its golf titles, never more present than in its latest title "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004". Right from the get-go you can tell this will be no normal round of golf. It's like the "Bronx" meets "St. Andrews" with DMX pumping out the intro song while golfers break it down B-Boy style. Straight away EA shows off its impressive list of big name golfers from Australia's very own Adam Scott to Fiji's Vijay Singh. EA has even made up its own array of funky characters for the not so fanatical golf fans.
What first impressed me was the revolutionary gameplay that EA Sports has created. EA has come away from practically the only swing style ever used in golfing games, that of clicking the button when the bar reaches the correct area highlighted on a swing bar. EA has made this action much more realistic and entertaining. Taking full advantage of the analog controls on most platforms these days (much like a joystick used on arcade machines), to swing the club you must pull back all the way for a full swing, half way for a half swing and so on and then swinging it forward to hit the ball. A lot harder than it sounds, TRUST ME! Don't let this put you off because the game provides a very well explained introductory game which teaches you how to fully manipulate these moves to your advantage and not that of your opponent's. After a few rounds you'll be scoring like the pros. Hitting the ball hard will take on a life of it's own, with cool camera work similar to that of Max Payne's "Bullet Time" (influence from The Matrix film's) it all makes it a lot more exciting and pulls away from the general school of thought that golf is boring. You also have the option to Fade or Draw your swing, this does take some time to master but a very handy trick for those dogleg curves. Once you've played a couple of games on any one of the many courses available, you begin to collect money and if you're good enough, even some lucrative sponsorships from brands like Callaway, Precept, Maxi-fly, TagHuer, Adidas, Nike and more. This is where the "Pro Shop" comes in. With over 5000 products to choose from ranging from apparel, equipment, accessories and attribute points you could end up spending much more time shopping than actually playing golf. I must admit I got carried away with this feature and my player now sports some very cool white micro-fibre pants, wearing a cream colored turtleneck top, a white beret, Tag-Huer sunglasses, gold chain, silver ring and bracelet and some very nice brown leather shoes. As you can say it's all too easy to have a little bit too much fun in this option. Back to golfing, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003" provided us with a whole bunch of different courses to play on. The bar was raised and nobody expected them to go one better in the 2004 release, but they have. With an impressive list of courses from real locations like Pebble Beach or St. Andrews to fantastic fictional course set high in the Incan mountains in Peru to luxurious holes with a view of Mt Fuji in Japan. With over 25 courses to pick from you will always have somewhere new to go for that relaxing round of golf .If that isn't enough variety for you there are 21 pro golfers and 6 fictional characters to play as or against. Still not satisfied? Just create your own player. EA has included an in-game character builder, which allows you to edit almost every feature you could possibly imagine for your character. From the appearance of your teeth to the features on your face, this option is extremely fun when sitting around with a couple of mates with characters that actually look like yourselves and hitting it out on some of the world's most prestigious courses. If your friends aren't big fans of video golf, the PlayStation 2 version of "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004" lets you play online. You can play match or stroke games against another real-life opponent or you can compete in online tournaments. You're given a great amount of control over the game settings when playing match or stroke games, allowing you to decide whether you play the front nine, the back nine, or the whole 18-hole course. You also get to choose the length of the rough and the speed of the fairway. You can even introduce a shot clock, which limits the time a player can take for his swing, and, ultimately, it lets you control the pace of the game. This helps to keep a quick nine holes from turning into a long and gruelling ordeal. One thing that EA has to work on is the soundtrack, with a mix that will please most people including genres such as Hip-Hop, Ska, Hard Rap, Indie and others. The seemingly random collection of contemporary licensed songs causes a clash. Luckily we have the option to edit the playlist and remove any of the songs we don't like. This is only a problem while travelling through the menus. In-game the natural sounds of birds chirping, waves crashing or the wind blowing will compensate for the bad choice in music. This game left my mates and I competing against each other for weeks, and not online but just by progress in the game. Everyone we show it to also gets hooked. It's addictive because it's fun and easy, but can become very hard and rewarding. Definantely a must play game. Happy Golfing.

Mmmmmm...well, I see that I'm not the only one who's shot 60 under or better. Simply put, even if you are not a fan of golf...I'd recommend this game 110% due to the following:A) Realistic - The golf courses are quite identical to the real ones. For that matter, the players are too. B) Create Your Own Golfer - You get to create your own Golfer...& I do mean create, as in building him/her from the ground up. Then you proceed to beef him/her up to play the PGA Tour Season/World Tour. (I've already dominated the latter of the 2) C) Sponsorships - Earn money out of the wazoo for winning, winning, and more winning. That's not to say you'll finish 1st every time. To be honest, I actually missed the cut for the first 3 tournaments before deciding to make a drastic overhaul on my guy. What a difference that makes! D) Online - If you think you can beat the best of the best when you get the hang of it...here is where you can test your true skill. E) Commentary - I simply love the commentary. 2 very big thumbs up to EA for this game. *If this review helped you, great. If not, then all I can say is play the game. You'll see what I mean.

This game is ton of fun for everyone, golfer or not! Tiger Woods 2004 is another great game by EA Sports, makers of all the best sports titles. Pick one of a wide array of pros, (Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, & more) or create your own golfer with the Game Face feature! (this feature is awesome!) Start a career and play in tournaments over a ten year span to win money, trophies, and set records on over 13 different courses! With your earnings you can go to the pro shop and buy hundreds of items to improve your golfers looks and attributes. (clubs, balls, clothes, even bling-bling!) Other features are the world tour, (unlock courses, golfers, and items.) scenario mode, and real-time-events! You can play 2 player against a friend, or play online against whoever you choose. I've been playing this game non-stop since I got it! Out of 10- Overall: 9.0 - Graphics: 9.0 - Gameplay: 9.5 - Replayability: 9.0.
