This review is from: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2000 (Game Boy Color, 2000) (Video Game)
Having played about every golf game imagined and being a first time GameBoy Color owner, I found this game to be not as bad as depicted on most sites but also not as good as it could have been. I am just getting accustomed to GameBoys limitations. The sound is beyond poor but with such a poor speaker I can't imagine it ever being good, even with headphones. I thought the graphics were much better than I expected. I didn't feel the overhead view was such a bad idea. I couldn't imagine a first person view down the course. Given the size of the screen I think it would be useless really. The depiction of the courses was not very faithful to the actual design, although OK. Too many straight fairways compared to the real courses. The very first time I ever picked the game up I was 12 under par at Sawgrass. I agree that the wind, rough, bunkers, etc. really don't seem to hinder your shot very much. I would give the game good marks for all the options and real PGA players. Setting up your shot is frustrating at first but it makes sense once you get used to it. Overall, not a bad game but might be more of a value if it were lower in price.

The visuals are poor. The point of view of the player is always from the side of the golfer. even when putting you don't even see the hole. The game has a very disappointing "feel". I've played many other golf games as this is one of the worst.

Although the graphics do make the most of the GBC, the sounds could be much less annoying. It is rather confusing, so try 'Mario Golf' instead.
