I picked up this game after having version 8 on my laptop. I have to say I was a skeptic about playing with a controller in my hand. After playing for a few hours in easy and then in hard mode I am very impressed. The easy mode makes you feel like a hero and you can even beat Tiger.
When you ramp it up to advanced mode the realistic effect destroys your game. You start to play more like yourself rather than a Tiger. I actually got the feeling like this is a real golf game. About as real as it can get with our current technology anyway, VERY IMPRESSIVE. I got the feeling of being in the big game and really making it big.
I had so much fun with the game I went to the driving range this afternoon to see if I had really improved. I took my wife as a witness. I was blown away by the accuracy that I pulled off. I understood the dynamics of hitting the ball. I always thought a slice was an error. After playing the game I understood how I slice and how to hook on purpose. I can honestly say to you that I hit the ball straight 80% of the time.
Is it the game? I think it gets you thinking more about the success and dynamics of golf more than anything. And isn't that all golf is anyway. Building your confidence and believing you can get on the green every time is about your mind, that's it! Your mind can't tell the difference, really! Olympic athletes use MVR (Motor Visual Rehearsal) so golfers should too right?
Will this game improve your real golf game? I think so simply because it gets you thinking. Your form will correct itself.
If you have any desire to improve and practice the game (20min 18 holes VS 5 Hours & $70) than get this game. You will be impressed and your game and understanding will improve. Trust me... If I am wrong write me at dashpd@gmail and tell me. ENJOY!!

both game where giving as a gift. stated game (tiger woods) was very hard to play ,but loves the games with wii resort!!!

This is the only Wii game I have played besides Wii Sports. I do play golf on occasion and find that Tiger Woods is fairly intuitive. Although I play much better in Tiger Woods than in real life, I still struggle in the same areas. Like real golf clubs, the better clubs in Tiger Woods are less forgiving. For example, with better clubs the game picks up my tendency to hook the ball. I have mostly played the career mode and cannot wait until I play my next round.
