5.0 out of 5 stars Vietnam says it all, January 27, 2002
This review is from: Tiger men: An Australian soldier's secret war in Vietnam (Hardcover)
Tiger Men is a book about an Australian officer (Barry Peterson) who was sent to Vietnam before the war by the CIA. In Vietnam Barry was to create a local militia to defend against the North Vietmanese and VC. During this time he gained the respect of the villagers and tells how the war affected them. I liked the book (being Australian myself) and how Australians can have a better understanding of local people as opposed to the American way of thinking. Like most memories associated Vietnam it is ultimatley a saddening story but it does have rays of hope and will probably make most people rethink their stance on refugees and asylum seekers.
