Book Description

Novella: 29300 words

Melissa Stark will take on just about any job as long as the price is right. But this particular job she would gladly take on for free because Captain Zachary Knight has been a thorn in her side ever since she stole his starship ten years ago.

Back then he was a genuine hero and poster boy for the army's hybrid breeding program. Now things have changed. Zach has been accused of a massacre on the planet of Talmare and is being shipped home to stand trial. But certain influential people want to make sure Zach never reaches Earth and Mel and her crew on The Revenge have been hired to intercept him and return him to Talmare.

It should have been easy money. The problem is, Zach is impossible to resist and once Mel gets her hands on him she's doesn't want to let him go. Now those same people are also after Mel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down October 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Take one female pirate, one stolen space ship, one handcuffed man & one power hungry villian, mix thoroughly with smart, sassy dialogue & you get a book you won't put down until you finish it.

Loved this book. Giggled through the whole thing with the witty interactions between Mel, Zach, Darla, Leila, Angie & Grace.

The crew of the Revenge or Valiant, (depending on who's speaking) are rich with possibilities. I really hope we see these characters again soon, 'cause I need to know that Leila found her Happily Ever After.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Please October 6, 2011
By Ray
Format:Kindle Edition
I want more. The story caught me immediately and held me all the way through. I enjoyed the dynamic between Zach and Mel. The supporting cast remained rather two dimensional, which works for this length novella, but I would love to see a novel length with the characters fleshed out a bit, just to see more interaction between captain and crew. I will look for more from Nina Croft.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, sexy, sassy!! October 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Fun, sexy, sassy, science fiction, paranormal, mystery, romance. It all adds up to Nina Croft's terrific new book 'Tiger of Talmare'. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading, but I was sucked right into the story from the beginning. The dialog was great and, at times, I laughed out loud. The love scenes weren't overdone, and no one changed character and got all sappy. The women are feisty and smart, and Zach is yummy and funny. What more could anyone want? Well, maybe another story from Nina Croft :)

Well-written and entertaining this was a fun read. The earth didn't move in plot but the characters were likeable and it was so quick and easy to digest that I can't fault it. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Witty, smart and fast make for great adventures.
My only problem with this story, it was too short. Anyone who is a fan of Joss Whedon will love this book. And if you're not then you are missing one hell of an adventure story. Read more

I have to disagree with J Lance's review. Although I respect his/her right to an opinion, I think that Mel was quite a strong character, lip biting notwithstanding. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Tiger of Talmare
Reviewed my own personal references and saw I'd given it only 2 stars, therefore, it was not my kind of story. That does not mean it wasn't good, just not 'my cup of tea'.

More About the Author

Nina Croft grew up in the north of England. After training as an accountant, she spent four years working as a volunteer in Zambia which left her with a love of the sun and a dislike of 9-5 work. She then spent a number of years mixing travel (whenever possible) with work (whenever necessary) but has now settled down to a life of writing and picking almonds on a remote farm in the mountains of southern Spain.

Nina's writing mixes romance with elements of the paranormal and science fiction.
