5.0 out of 5 stars Gold Disc
the reason this disc is so expensive is because it has Mobile Fidelity's heralded GAIN 2 mastering technique. This remastered disc is the gold standard.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy the original cd
Buy the original cd. Usually the Mobil Fidelity cd's sound AMAZING, but NOT this one. Not sure what happened here, but the noise floor is much higher and it really does not sound any better than the original. Really shocking!

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS, December 23, 2007

Tigerlily is by far one of the most perfect albums. There are very few albums where you like every song. Tigerlily is an incredible debut for the very talented Ms Merchant's solo career. She proves her lyric and songwriting ability, and then some. You can't just listen to her songs, you have to read the lyrics and listen to how she constructs the songs. She's amazing and I can't wait for a new CD from her.

2.0 out of 5 stars I liked the original recording more..., January 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this having high hopes. After listening to it, compared it to the first release, and went back to the first release. (same situation with the Pixies Doolittle MF gold digital master...)

To me, it feels like a lot of the "energy" was lost in the cleaning up. Too "air brushed" for my tastes.

My system: Naim CD player, Rotel Preamp, Mark Levinson ML-9 amp, KEF 104.2 Reference speakers and DIY cables.

Although we haven't heard from her much in awhile. I enjoy this album thoroughly. Her songs are inspiring, and her voice fits in with many of today's female vocalists with her folky style. If you like a classic rock-folk music, I would heartily recommend this album.

1.0 out of 5 stars Limited Edition?, May 25, 2008
This review is from: Tigerlily (Omr) (Mlps) (Audio CD)
Well, I hate to review something I haven't purchased.

Don't get me wrong. I have Tigerlily on cassette. It's great and I want to get the CD for a better listening experience. It comes in two versions, and this version costs much more than the other, but there's very little info on the website as to why. Better sound, or just packaging frills?

Ok, I think I'll get the less expensive CD.
