Not much to say other than that...this song is just Jammin' as hell...no room to hate.

There is just no question about it that this year there has been a deep lack of strong artists coming out with good songs. But, there have been a few surprises that've hit the nail on the head. That does on with newcomer Janelle Monae and her debut single Tightrope from her first album The Archandroid. I honestly have to admit I was deeply surprised at how good the song really is. It has a deeply soul-driven style and brings back the kind of sound old school R&B acts like James Brown and Marvin Gaye had shown during the 60's and 70's era of music. It really is a nice surprise and a good escape from the lackluster acts like Justin Bieber and Rihanna have shown in their songs lately. I really there is more great songs from Janelle to come soon. She has so far what today's acts don't.

No doubt about it. Janelle Monae is a star. Tightrope + Cold War = MAJOR.
May 18th should be a national holiday.

How can you listen to this song and not want to get up and dance? I have no idea. Janelle Monae is simply awesome.

The song itself it amazing on it own, but when I watched the video for the first time I kept thinking of James Brown...and a bit of Michael Jackson in his prime. Love her style and this song just makes me want to get up and MOVE! Whole lotta style...love it!

i cant say anything bad about this song. When this song comes on, it takes precedence over any and everything else im doing at the moment!! contagious.

This song is absolutely amazing. She def snapped on this song and cold war. im in awe! ive been waiting for her to come out and snap and i must say well done on the two new singles!!!!! [...] gave me all the info it says her cd, THE ARCHANDROID comes out May 18TH!!
