It begins on a dark, scented patio in Rio. . . with the rich rhythms of a samba. . . and the warm caress of a masked stranger with magic in his touch. . . and explodes into Jennifer Blake's most sensual novel yet, sweeping from Rio to New Orleans in an erotic haze of seduction and sensuality, passion and betrayal. . .
TIGRESS
As acting CEO of her grandfather's shipping company, Jessica Meredith must face off against shipping tycoon Rafael Castelar and his ruthless takeover bid. But their meeting in Brazil puts them at a stalemate. Then Jessica attends an elegant party during Carnival that, under the cover of darkness, turns into a lurid orgy. Luckily, Jessica is rescued by a dashing masked stranger whose embrace offers comfort, then sweeps her to ecstasy.
Drawn into a web of haunting sensuality, and confronted with a rival--and a family--she can neither trust nor turn away, Jessica sharpens her claws to

Then Jessica attends a Carnaval party that turns into an orgy -- and is swept off her feet by a dashing masked stranger...

Review

In a moment of passionate inhibition, Jessica Meredith let a masked stranger make love to her during Carnival. It must have been the Samba beat or the sense of anonymity she felt in Rio. Whatever caused her momentary lapse of reason and logic, Jessica was swept away by passion with a man who seemed to know her every desire. When she returns to New Orleans, that night in Rio will come back to haunt her. Jessica is taking the helm of Sea Gull Transport and Charter while her grandfather recovers from a stroke. But someone else wants Sea Gull-a man who won't take no for an answer. Rafael Castelar y Torres has a well deserved reputation for being shrewd and in control. Rafael is president of Companhia Maritima Castelar and intends to acquire Sea Gull one way or another. He never intended to make love to Jessica but something about her turns the level headed businessman into the clichéd hot blooded Brazilian. He wants Jessica in a way he's never wanted any woman, but she's made it clear she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. When pictures of their passionate interlude turn up and Jessica is assaulted, Rafael wants to know why. Jessica is suspicious of Rafael because he always seems to be there when she's in trouble-- but she is also wildly attracted to him. As the web of lies and deceit tangles around them, Jessica will have to trust Rafael to keep her safe. But is she safe from him?Jennifer Blake proves time and time again that she is an incredibly talented author. Tigress is possibly her finest book to date! She has created a winning combination of passion, romance, and intrigue. Rafael is a hero to make your pulse race and Jessica is his perfect match. The Brazilian flavor of Tigress is exotic and seductive. You can almost hear that Samba music... Sexy and sensational! Jennifer Blake will enthrall you! Tigress is Jennifer Blake at her very best! An entertaining tale that will have you turning pages late into the night! A book by Jennifer Blake is guaranteed to be a winner! The summer just got hotter! Jennifer Blake's writing sizzles!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times

From the first page this book about Jessica and Rafael is spell-binding. The flavor and atmosphere of New Orleans and Rio Janiero combined is enough to set the pages on fire. The mystery added to the passion made Jennifer Blake one of my favorite authors.
