4.0 out of 5 stars Bottom line - the coolest!, February 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tijuana Hit Squad (Audio CD)
First, the bottom line: This CD is the coolest! A slight break from the Voodoobilly stuff of previous CD's which dealt with tiki men, mad scientists and zombies, the monsters of Tijuanna Hit Squad are more human. Here we have hit men, lifers, midwestern psychos and serial killers ( though don't be surprised if Satan puts in an appearance in a big black limo ). Already famous for their icy and relentless instrumentation and darkly funny lyrics which never cross the line into mere novelty, Deadbolt comes through again with what may be their best yet. Refreshingly narrative song writing and a high body count make this a two fisted must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars mr. blonde starts a band, March 15, 2000
This review is from: Tijuana Hit Squad (Audio CD)
let's say there were some guys that kill for a living, and these guys got caught and went into the witness relocation program. But after the goverment checks stopped coming they had to do something...."let's start a band" one says, "what will we sing about?" asks another. "well about what we used to do! of course!" and thus started the scariest band in the world. they could tie me up,cut off my ear and cover me in gasoline any day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hell hath no furry like Deadbolt spurned, August 6, 2004

Elvis-from-Hell (Fort Lauderdale, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tijuana Hit Squad (Audio CD)
I am writing this review only to correct the poor, misguided souls who gave this album less than 5 stars. Forgive them, lord, for they know not what they do.

When the final chapter of mankind's history is written, Deadbolt will be among the pantheon of true geniuses burped up every few eons like Plato, Archimedes, Descartes and Nietzsche. With songs like "A Hit Gone Wrong," "The Day I Got My Spine Back," "She's a Snake" and the brilliance of "Goin to Witchata" history can never treat Deadbolt too kindly. You'll see.

So repent you misguided souls or else I'll send Patches the Clown to put the curly arm on 'ya (and maybe a wine stain or twisted skipper too).
