There's nothing like an overly demonstrative pair of newlyweds to make an old married couple feel like a failure. And old. So when Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Steph (Kat Foster) Woodcock--married for all of 12 days--move next door to Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy Stark (Joely Fisher), the latter feel the need to put their youthful neighbors in their place. After all, they've been married more than 23 years and can't remember ever having been as silly as the Woodcocks are with their multiple PDAs and cries of "I love you." And such is the premise of the first season of 'Til Death. The Starks have a mean streak that binds them together. Rather than allowing the young couple to fight amongst themselves and learn from their own mistakes, the Starks make themselves feel better by instigating spats. Never mind that the Woodcocks are in their 20s and their been-there done-that neighbors are two decades older. The young couple still seeks out their approval and wants to befriend them. Despite the sometimes-clunky dialogue, Garrett and Fischer are likeable even in their unlikable roles. But Thomas--the least memorable actor from the cast of the American Pie films--is miscast in his part. Though earnest, he's not believable. All 22 episodes of the first season, which aired on Fox in 2006-2007, are included on this 3-disc set. Look for guest stars such as Margaret Cho (as a Stark pal who befriends the Woodcocks) to steal the show. Married, with Children alum Ted McGinley also makes an appearance as Eddie's bachelor pal (and idol) who begins to lose his cool factor when he falls hard for one of Joy's friends. The show would fare better if it focused less on the primary two couples and included more of their friends, who are more interesting and likeable. --Jae-Ha Kim

5.0 out of 5 stars The Sitcom is Back! October 5, 2007
Format:DVD
I was very fearful after Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends went off the air that the demise of the sitcom was near. It's NOT!! Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher bring magic and wit back to the screen with 'Til Death. Brad somehow manages to bring a brand new character with all the old "lovability" and charm of his old character (Robert - Everybody Loves Raymond). I've never had the privilege to see Joely Fisher act before - but she will win you over! The chemistry between the two is hard to miss. The Woodcocks (Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster) also are easy to become addicted to. In the second season, Kat Foster brings a hilarious side to her character. I look forward to Wednesday nights!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, smart, funny... September 1, 2008
Format:DVD
Joely Fisher is sexy and smart. Brad Garrett is awkward. Eddie Kaye Thomas is almost naive. Kat Foster is bubbly, yet seasoned. Together they mesh quite well and make for some great comedy. The Newlyweds & the not so newlyweds. It's absolutely hysterical & something my husband & I relate to all too well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Show June 27, 2007
Format:DVD
This show is incredibly funny, especially with Brad Garrett as the main star. I was just talking about it the night of the season finale, hoping it would be released on DVD, and sure enough, it will be released just in time for the second season to air on television. If you watch Everybody Loves Raymond, YOU WILL LOVE THIS SHOW. I hope this review was helpfull.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny, but not "Raymond" December 28, 2009
Format:DVD
I was excited to see Brad Garrett of "Raymond" fame move onto his own T.V. show. Garrett plays a cranky husband while Joely Fisher is his down-to-earth wife. The couple is joined by Jeff and Steph Woodcock, the young, lovestruck neighbors. The show revolves around the two couples, a contrast between old and young, cynical and naive.

The first season was funny enough (although, as I write in later reviews, the show declined). It was great to see the contrast between the two couples. Garrett of course carries the show, with his eccentricity, but the other actors also have their place. Steph Woodcock has some great moments showing her wild side. I never found myself quite laughing as hard as I did for "Raymond," but this first season came close.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly funny! July 22, 2007
Format:DVD
No, this show is certainly not a favorite of critics. But if you just sit there and watch some episodes, it really does make you laugh. The writers really know how to turn marriage into comedy. I'm perfectly happy just sitting back and letting Brad and Joely shine in this surpringly entertaining sitcom. I hope to see it continue to grow in 2007-08 -- it's got a lot of potential, if people would stop dismissing it as garbage.
