When you get this DVD, your first impression will be that it's cheap, the type sold in gas stations, NOT on Amazon. A penny for a new DVD should have been a hint! OK, that's my book-by-the-cover review.

As to the movie, it's fun. Hollywood bio-pics from this era sustain MGM's reputation: "That's Entertainment!" The story that floats this showboat could get distracting if it wasn't interrupted by these terrific production numbers. Music by Jerome Kern, an A-list group of performers, and pretty good actors make it a good experience. So, sit back and be entertained ... be very entertained!
