About the Artist

Jason and deMarco are living proof that art imitates life, and that music can also be inspired by the best that life has to offer on its many levels, sometimes mystical and at times, even euphoric. Their passionate and hopeful lyrics exemplify a spirit that is reflected in both their lives and music, attracting audiences everywhere, and creating instant fans wherever they go. States deMarco, "We want to create music that is very inclusive." With such an attitude, it is not surprising that the duo's music and peformances have been received with critical acclaim and that this represents just the beginning of what is sure to be a long and prosperous career. In 2005, Jason and deMarco played at numerous high profile venues including the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Awards in Los Angeles (with awards presented by K.D. Lang and Carson Kressley, "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy"), and at the Matthew Shepard Foundation's annual gala in Denver, Colorado alongside singer-songwriter Randi Driscoll, commemorating the death of the organization's namesake, and attended by Matthew's mother, Judy Shepard. The duo ended 2005 performing at the Equality California Awards in Palm Springs and in 2006 launched the New Year with a musical performance at the Human Rights Campaign Gala at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, opening the evening premiering their new albums title track "Till the End of Time", where honorees included Ang Lee and Jake Gyllenhaal from the Golden Globe Winning Film "Brokeback Mountain". Jason & deMarco premiered their new single "Trying to Get to You" at the Task Force’s Winter Party in Miami with Tracy Young and they also premiered the new L.E.X. remix of the single at the White Party in Palm Springs during the opening night Inferno party in April 2006. The musical duo was also part of the Human Rights Campaign star-studded benefit two-pack CD album celebrating marriage equality, entitled, "Love Rocks," which also includes tracks from Christina Aguilera, Pink, The Dixie Chicks, Melissa Etheridge, Mandy Moore, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Dido, Carole King, Yoko Ono, Cyndi Lauper and Oleta Adams, among others. As they continue to perform in multiple venues around the country, they will also continue playing colleges and universities, promoting their music and message. deMarco has noted that they play over a hundred concerts per year. Jason and deMarco are return with their highly anticipated release, "Till The End Of Time," this Summer, again sharing their impressive studio magic and signature sound. The album is produced by Alan Lett, with additional production from Grammy and Dove Award winning producer, Joe Hogue (LeAnn Rimes, Michael W. Smith, Carmen), Rhys Fulber (Sinead O'Connor, Josh Groban, Conjure One), and Eddie X and Luigie Gonzalez pda LEX (Ricky Martin, Barbara Streisand, etc.) While seven of the album's twelve songs are written by Jason and deMarco, additional writing credits on the disc include the two-time Academy Award, Grammy and Golden Globe nominee songwriter, Allan Rich, who has penned hits for artists including Whitney Houston, Backstreet Boys, and Patti LaBelle. The album's twelve tracks are masterfully arranged, resulting in compositions that are a transcendent blend of the earthly and sublime. The title track represents the infinite power of love that you experience once you find ! 'the one you've been waiting for', Jason says. "We feel this track fits in so well with the mood of this new album which is taking us to new places musically and artistically". "Till The End Of Time" takes the listener on a journey through the depths and plateaus of relationships, and their many emotional landscapes. The songs take you from discovering love, to losing it, then rediscovering it and then holding onto it and trusting that it will last forever, 'till the earth stops turning'. The album begins with searching for 'love' and completes with the disc's title track celebrating fin

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic, playful and poingnant, July 27, 2006
By
This review is from: Till the End of Time (Audio CD)
Full disclosure: I'm doing a documentary on these guys. Still, I think I can be objective enough to say that this is a terrific album. The boys have beautiful voices that work so well together: Jason is big with the "wow" notes, deMarco's voice is pure warmth and both know how to balance vocal gymnastics with storytelling and emotion. Highlights include:

"This Is Love": Pure, unapologetic romance in a lovingly crafted song. It gives me shivers.

"Missing You": An intimate, haunting ballad living somewhere between the romantic and the neurotic.

"Trying to Get to You" & "Just In Time": Pop music at it's best. Great songs for driving or when you need to be perked up. The swapping of verses creates boy-meets-boy effect that few artists have dared to do.

"Till the End of Time": This is one of those songs that creates a painting in one's mind. An eerie, sprawling declaration of love with just a dash of disturbing as the apocalyptic title implies.

Best of all, the album works as a whole, taking the listener on a journey in the way great albums like Fleetwood Mac's Rumours or Madonna's "Like A Prayer" do. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a story!!!!, July 12, 2006
This review is from: Till the End of Time (Audio CD)
When I first got this CD I kinda skimmed thru the tracks, as I was already familiar with "Trying to Get to You" and "This is Love", having already bought the Remix CD.

Initially, I listed to the first minute or so of each song to get a feel of what the album had to offer. Some very radio friendly, others, well very, quirky. On the 2nd listen, was still not very attentative and just 'listening'...

BUT THEN!!!

THEN when I FINALLY sat down with the lyrics and listened and read word for word....I GOT IT!!! This is a CONCEPT album...A STORY!! From beginning to end.

From the first tracks "Trying to get to You", "Falling", and "This is love", it is boy meets boy and they fall in love.

Then, things get rocky...suspicion, and jealousy ("Stormy Weather") and story song, (in the same vain as R.Kelley's 'the Closet') "I Found the Number" isnt so quirky, when u follow the story).

The boys then split or take time apart and its hell("Missing you")...but happy, happy they MAKE UP!!!

Our boys finally realize that they cant live without each other with "Be the Light" and lastly...

Realizing that they will, most certainly, love each other "Till the End of Time"!

This plays less like a pop album and more like a broadway musical, in the style of RENT.

Its genius, masterful and a BEAUTIFUL, however, familiar tale to many people, both gay and straight.

BRAVO!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Harmony, July 15, 2006

Steven Housman "SHARK" (West Hollywood, CA & Miami, FL) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Till the End of Time (Audio CD)
Have you heard the wonderful first track "Trying To Get To You," remixed by DJ extraordinaire Tracy Young, at your local club? It's a masterpiece. Not to be outdone by the talented Ms. Young, L.E.X. also offers three remixes, including a heart-pounding ten-and-a-half minute version that'll get you movin' and groovin' even if you're not in a dancing state of mind. THAT'S how infectious it is. Moving on to the rest of this hot boy duo's CD are eleven other tracks that'll leave you breathless and begging for more of their soaring vocals and exquisitely penned songs. The beautifully talented and handsome deMarco describes the album as "Romantic pop with big vocals and lots of harmonies." The highlights include "This Is Love," "Where The Sun Meets The Sea," the amazingly romantic "Just In Time" (no, not the standard, but a beautifully crafted love song), "Save Me, "Missing You" and the closing title track which Jason says "represents the infinite power of love that you experience once you find the one you've been waiting for." A gorgeous treat is the song "Be The Light" which deMarco describes as, "The story of our life as we battle what others want us to be by staying true to our beliefs in who we are." If you were lucky enough to have caught this winsome duo performing at the Equity California Awards in Palm Springs a few months ago, you already know what I'm talking about. If you didn't and can't resist a gorgeous duo whose looks are only enhanced by their talent, I think you owe it to yourself to pick up this wonderful CD. This album is evidence of the kind of love that J&D have for each other as soul mates and the type of love we, as listeners, aspire to. Till The End Of Time is appropriate for any time - most especially now.
