5.0 out of 5 stars Best Hat Ever
I bought the LTM6 Tilley AIRFLO hat for my husband on his birthday. It is a great looking hat- makes him look like a real mountain man. When we went to go visit his extended family, everybody tried it on and I genuinely thought that it looked good on everyone. All the relatives want Tilleys now! I can't blame them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Like wearing a solar still on your head
I'm generally pleased with the shape, wide brim, and comfortable fit of the Tilley Airflo hat. However, this expensive hat fails miserably at moisture control. Water builds up in the hat until the simple act of leaning forward causes many drops of water to spill out of the front brim, splashing on my sunglasses and washing away the sunscreen I've applied. The too-narrow...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Hat Ever, August 13, 2006
I bought the LTM6 Tilley AIRFLO hat for my husband on his birthday. It is a great looking hat- makes him look like a real mountain man. When we went to go visit his extended family, everybody tried it on and I genuinely thought that it looked good on everyone. All the relatives want Tilleys now! I can't blame them.

We measured my husband's head according to the instructions on the Tilley website and the hat fits him perfectly. Even walking around in the windy Badlands the hat stayed put. Despite the AIRFLO vents, the hat kept his head (and mine too- I like to borrow it!) very dry during a weekend of rainy camping. The Tilley is absolutely everything a hat should be plus some. We love the Tilley!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not enough stars for this hat!!, August 16, 2006
Wow! I am not a hat person, but age and sanity have forced me to wear something. I had previously never liked any hat as the fit was rarely comfortable or the hat was in the way of my bird photography. So I tried a Tilley LTM6. Again, WOW! The fit is perfect, the comfort is remarkable, it will never wear out (and it will be replaced by Tilley if it does). I washed it twice already and the fit is still the same as when it was new. My wife has to make me take it off in the house. She also claims it makes me look like someone out of GQ--I think this is goodness. I can strongly recommend this hat to anyone!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect, April 7, 2008
I bought my LTM6 two years ago and it's perfect under most conditions. I like the protection it gives, the light weight, the option of using none, one, or both of the fore and aft wind cords; the overall comfort of the hat and the cords, and the easy care. When it's hot, however - think in terms of the summer heat in SoCal from Escondido to San Ysidro, Tucson, AZ; White Sands, NM; Texas and Oklahoma - perspiration soaks the sweat band and the hat gradually shrinks causing the familiar hat-headache that causes many people to buy a Tilley in the first place. The problem is alleviated temporarily until it shrinks again, IF one thinks to remove the hat and stretch it. Also, water condensation builds up inside the hat because the Airflo band isn't wide enough and the Nylamtium material doesn't breathe. Again, this is only during hot weather. Other than that, I like my Tilley so much that I'm looking to buy another to wear during hot weather such as the LTM8 that has the full mesh sides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great "Tilley", June 1, 2008
I love my new "Tilley". The folks at Tilley provided fantastic cutomer service, even sent the hat to me when I saw it wouldn't reach me at home before I left on vacation. Great shade hat, light and cool, and it looks good. I'm a geographer and do a lot of photography and this is just what I need for outdoors work and play. Thanks again for your wonderful serice and an awesome hat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gary's review of the LTM6 Tilley Airflo hat, September 23, 2007
I am presently in kuwait and have been seeking a good hat to wear due to the extreme sun and heat (up to 140 at times). I had tried hats from REI but did not like them due to the measurement and lack of breathability for this type heat.
Then I saw another person with a Tilley Hat. It looked great, provided the protection I was looking for and I noted that the top part of the hat has a breathable mesh allowing the heat out. The next day I ordered my hat.
I must say that I love this hat and am trying to get a hat size from my daugher-in-law to get her dad one.
Order process: Extremely Easy
Time to recieve: two weeks - Excellent. In fact,I received comfirmation that the hat would ship on the day I recieved it. Like getting a christmas present.
Size- Perfect just like I ordered it.
Color - just waht I wanted.
Price - great price for a very good hat
Great hat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Hat, July 12, 2007

(REAL NAME)
My doctor recently told me that I needed better sun protection after removing a few crusty patches from my face. I started looking for a better hat and I found the Tilley. I fell in love with it, but was a little concerned about the cost, being a cap man for many years.

Well, I kept looking at every thing on the market and kept coming back to the Tilley. I finally decided to take the plunge adn got the LTM6 model because of the wider brim and the "airflo".

I have had it for a few weeks now and just love it. I was not sure if I would like the chin strap and then we recently went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We spent part of the day at the Wright Brothers musuem. And man did the wind blow. I see now why they went there to fly their plane. Well, the chin strap was really needed and worked just right. When I got back out of the wind, it just goes back on the inside of the hat.

I highly recommend the Tilley. A great hat and great protection from the sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hat!, August 2, 2010

Was bought for a canoe trip in south Mississippi on the 4th of July. Bright sun all day on the river. The Tilley did what it was supposed to do with comfort and ease of use. Parts of my legs received a number 2 sunburn, head neck nothing, this hat worked and the sun block did not. Of the number of hat and covers I have worn in the past 66 years I would say this Tilley was the best one so far.

Tilley state that to fit properly pick a size that allows two (2) finger inside the brim and not tight, setup like that this hat was a pleasure to wear. What I wore in other hats was a 71/2 this one is a 75/8.

Good luck and use.

Jim

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, it really is worth the money, March 4, 2010

I've had this hat for over a year now and I love it. Before you get one, you constantly tell yourself that a Tilley hat cannot possibily be worth the money. Yes, it is worth it. The hat is light, but when worn correclty, stays on even in a decent breeze. The hat launders well, while being resistent to dirt to begin with. The most surprising thing is how many people will comment on your hat. I was astounded how many people say, Great Hat!
