Great socks for snorkeling but a little big,

I got these for my trip to Hawaii, and I wasn't sure on sizing since it's mens (and me being female). If it helps anyone I wear a solid size 10m (with longer toes) womens and I got a medium size in mens (or the 8 1/2 to 10 I think) and it's a TAD big, so I could have probably gotten away with the small for them to be more snug but as they are they do fit in the fin just fine, haven't tested them in water yet. Hope that helps if anyone's not sure about sizing. Otherwise the quality and durability seems to be there, it has little rubbery things on the contact part(bottom of the sock) that I like too, so you could wear them walking on rough rocks on the beach wading etc.

kiteboarding,
This review is from: Tilos Neoprene Fin Socks (Misc.)
I kitesurf in a beach that has some rocks and sometimes little pieces of shattered glass. These socks made me forget about all this and enjoy my kitesurfing time without worrying about what I step on.
They're flexible and, yet, have a very good grip. They fit in the board straps perfectly and comfortably. The only down side is that they tend to stretch a little with time. I'm very happy with this product.

Wonderful socks for snorkeling,

I have a size 14 to 15 foot so it is almost impossible to find swim fins that fit comfortably. I bought these neoprene socks and they work wonderfully. They are the only companty I could find who makes a neoprene sock in size 2XL, and they actually fit me! It is a little difficult to fit my foot with sock in the fin but once it is in the neoprene cushions my foot very well and allows me to wear the fins all day long. My only complaint is that it makes my feet much warmer than I want them to be but this could be a plus if they were used in cold water.

Tilos Neoprene Fin Socks
Pro: Lightweight, Fine for light currents, Cheap, Comfortable. Con: Sole is too thin, Tops are not high enough for good fin security. The rest of the story ... With the ever decreasing luggage weight allowance on airplanes, I am trying to trim weight wherever I can. Recently all of our diving has been in the Caribbean which means warm water and minimal currents. I realized that my old 5mm zipup SCUBA booties were overkill. Basically all that I needed was something to keep my foot-pocket (vs full-foot) fins from falling off. These fin-socks work well. I have used them now on about 40 dives plus about a dozen pool pre-divetrip tuneup sessions (Chlorine!) and they still probably have about 10 dives left in them. The two problems with them are that the sole is too thin for comfort on coral beaches or hot docks; more importantly, the ankle tops do not come up high enough to allow good purchase for an open-pocket fin strap. With even moderately hard kicking this fin-sock does start to work loose. I would NEVER use them in any but light currents. They are however, in my opinion, safe enough for light recreational diving. The weight saving was tremendous. The pair weighs 3.75 oz (105 gm) and takes up very little space. The pair of booties they replaced weighed 2# 5 oz (~1 kg) and took up ever-so-much more space. However, these were full-fledged SCUBA booties which give fin security in more demanding diving conditions (such as the Pacific). As I was a bit worried about the fin security with these fin-socks, I also purchased a pair of simple 3mm slip-on high-top booties ( [...] ) which I found to be not very satisfactory. Sizing: I wear men's US size 12, "XL" was perfect (even with my big ol' bunion). The only other comment I have is that sadly the fin-socks are only available in black. Several decades ago SCUBA gear came in a wide variety of colors: Now it is virtually all depressingly black. Though these still have some dives left in them, and though they are not perfect, given the evanescent nature of many products I have ordered two more pair today. Just DO NOT use these fin-socks EXCEPT in LIGHT CURRENTS. Great value!

I found these to be great to wear when using warm water fins. They are the perfect thickness and make even extended swimming/snorkelling with fins completely comfortable.

The Tilos neoprene fin socks work perfectly to keep fins in place and avoid any rubbing or rash. They stay on, feel great on your feet and are durable. I use them for boogie boarding. I normally wear a size 8.5-9.0 mens shoe and the mediums fit me perfectly.

I use these for kayaking, cause they are a lot less than kayaking booties. These are pretty good quality. They are warm. The only reason that I am not giving it 5 stars is because the soles are not very thick, so when walking on rocks its a little uncomfortable, But I think that will be a problem with anything like this. also, They seem to be shorter than in the picture, they go up about as much as a normal ankle sock.

ordered these to use for snorkeling with full foot fins. very comfortable and stopped the fin full foot from rubbing my ankle and heel raw. was able to snorkel in comfort. madde it easier to get in and out of the water since i was not barefoot going over the rocks.

These were really comfortable both in and out of the water. I used them for snorkeling and for just wading in the water since there were lots of sharp rocks...they worked great and really saved my feet.

Love these socks. Very comfortable both in & out of the fins. Well made. Kudos to Tilos for making fins for those of us with bigger than average feet too.
