I bought these cards thinking that there was a brilliant sketch by Tim Burton on every card. The reason they only show you these 4 illustrated cards is because they are the only four in the whole deck of cards. All of the number cards follow the standard appearance (4 red diamonds on a card of 4 diamonds). There are only illustrations on the 4 high cards: Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. Not only that, also each of the four queens have the same illustration on them, each of the four kings have the same illustration on them, and so on, and so forth. So there really are only 4 pictures in the whole deck. I was thoroughly disappointed; don't waste your money.

In the pictures shown I thought that every card would have a picture on it. But it is in fact not that way. Only face cards have pictures, the rest are regular cards.

Usually, in a deck of playing cards, each jack, queen, king are different. Not so with these cards. Each jack looks the same, each queen, etc. This is a cheap deck.

I love Tim Burton, however I do not love these cards. They are truly unique and the artwork is great, but playing with them has been difficult. The numbers and letters are all black [instead of the standard black or red] and the suit is only shown under the letter on face cards. It has caused many errors while playing. You have to be very careful and double check to make sure you're playing the correct colour/suit.

The cards are fun for Tim Burton fans, however, beware that the only cards with artwork on them are the face cards an joker cards. I thought there would be pictures on all, but this is not true so I was a little dissappointed. Still, function well as cards should....

I agree with the everything the other reviewer, Eva, said, although I don't think they are entirely worthless. They'll still be more fun to play with than a regular deck.

Now i thought i would fall in love with these cards. For the design that was used for them was beautiful, and the reviews looked great as well as the price. So i gave in.Until i opened them and felt them. That's were i knew i wasn't going to use them for the would be ripped and bent so easily in a actual game.It seems to me that the inventors didn't focus on the quality.ONLY DESIGN...Which isn't good when they are call and made for playing cards. These cards feel terribly they are very paper like then normal playing cards. So i beg of you to DON'T PURCHASE.Unless you want it for design. Then i give them a A- For not every cards design is unique.

The deck comes with hand drawn characters that are taken from Burton's book "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other stories."

Joker One - Robot Boy
Joker Two - Voodoo Girl
Jack - Roy the Toxic Boy
Queen - Pin Cushion Queen
King - Mummy Boy
Ace - Stain Boy

All of the pips are original and hand drawn as well as the indices both have an "eerie" feel to them.

The Back design is like the tuck box - red and white stripes with the skull and crossbones (one way back design). The Tim Burton playing cards are released from Dark Horse comics and Tim Burton publishing - however the cards are manufactured in China, so these are not going to be "sturdy" USPCC cards that we're used to in the states. These are "novelty" or "collectors" cards.

Good if you're a card collector or a Burton fan.
