Someone else wrote that this was your typical diner coffee and I would have to agree. It is smooth with notes of cocoa and roasted to a chestnut brown. Imagine the coffee that you would get at Waffle House, Huddle House, Bob Evan's, or your favorite diner chain and you have Tim Horton's coffee. I would call it unoffensive. If you are looking for something organic or single origin or fresh roasted, you should look elsewhere.

So far, I have made Thai iced coffee with it and I am currently drinking a hot cup as I type this review. If you like bolder coffee or coffee with a "bite", you might want to try something else. If you drink it black, you also might want to try something else because it doesn't stand on its own very well; again unoffensive to your average consumer. For me, it works well because I can use it when I don't have the money to splurge on fresh roasted coffee and now I have coffee to share. In closing, it is a good price for a large bag of coffee that you can share with people who may or may not like coffee.

P.S. I contacted Tim Horton's customer service and spoke to one of their nutrition facts representatives and she informed me that if the item has "BB" before the date than this is your best by date. Otherwise, that date is your production date. Also, taking into account that the chain, Tim Horton's, has Canadian roots (eh) the YY/MM/DD usage also applies to the numbers 120910 found on the back of the coffee bag; making the PRODUCTION date September 10, 2012.

This was my first time trying this coffee, and even though I like my coffee beans brewed a little bit darker, this is a good cup of coffee.
The coffee is reminiscent of old fashioned diner coffee.

I think I'll try to roast these beans myself until they get just one shade darker, that may or may not work, I'll try it and see.

Edit: I roasted a half cup up one level of darkness, and although the coffee smelled better, I prefer the taste of the original roast.

Still very good coffee both ways.

I am going to keep this short and sweet. It is a good tasting coffee at a great price. I am reordering again. The price will keep me coming back to buy more.

What can I say? This coffee is great. Was looking for a coffee to use in the new super auto espresso machine as well as the regular drip coffee maker. I remembered when I went to OSU (Ohio) and there was a Tim Horton's off campus. I remembered the smell of the place and it was the coffee.

The price is GREAT for a 2 pound bag, the reviews were really good and could maybe make my house smell like a Canadian based donut shop so really what could I lose?? Just the two days waiting for the shipment and I had enough other beans to hold out that long.

Opened the bag (we're talking whole bean, not preground stuff just FYI) and get a whiff of an absolutely great aroma. Dumped some in the grinder for the drip maker and filled the bean reservoir for the espresso machine the next morning...With the first hot cup and brewed shot it seriously was the "Pulp Fiction" scene when Jules says to Jimmy "mmmmm that's a good cup of coffee". Unbelievable. I still think of that scene with each and every cup I pour and espresso shot I brew.

Found the beans I'll be buying for all my coffee making right here...AND I get to bypass the pretentious local coffee roasting places ((and people) which is another reason I got the espresso machine in the first place))

Thank you!

I see so many complaints about freshness of this and other coffees that I decided to run a test. I ordered one 2# bag here and another of the same from Tim Horton's website. Both were priced at $12.99 for the 2# bag but Horton's website charged $7.50 for shipping and Amazon's delivery was free as a Prime member. Both shipments came from the Horton store in TN.

Here's what I was checking on. The "born on" date from the Horton store direct was 130313 (March 13, 2013) and the Amazon bag was one day fresher (130314). Both bags were 6 wks old so no clear winner here (and no 5 stars).

The main thing was I really didn't care for the coffee all that much. Good to Fair. I much prefer a stronger Columbian coffee and will go back to my favorites (that I receive from Amazon).

4th time I'm ordering this coffee from Amazon... great deal for a good breakfast coffee! Coffee is rich with a full body. I agree, I think this is a well kept secret on Amazon.

Tim Horton's coffee is best I have ever had. I'm not the only one to think this. I live in USA. I often visit talk forums. What I have heard time after time from many Canadians is missing Tim Horton's coffee while living in USA or elsewhere (not forums about coffee, just mentioned in passing). I was intrigued and ordered some. If this coffee is no longer available on Amazon at some point, I will order directly from Tim Horton's in Canada. "Whole Bean" ground yourself has most flavor, but I first ordered a small pouch of fine grind and I will never look back. If you are a fan of bitter or strong coffees sold in popular wifi cafes, maybe this is not for you.

I wish a Tim Horton's would open all over the world.
