5.0 out of 5 stars The best in Brazilian batucada, February 21, 2003
By
Tim High (Brentwood, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Timbalada (Audio CD)
Timbalada is not only one the groups that truly defines this style of music, they are also one of the most creative innovators. I'm not completely positive what role Carlinhos Brown played in their formation, though he was definitely key, and he is one of Brazil's most unusual and interesting modern composers, especially when it comes to percussion. "Toque de Timbaleiro" is probably the most covered tune by Brazilian batucada groups here in the U.S. "Beija-Flor" is exceptionally beautiful and romantic, and "Filha da Mae" is mesmerizing and ethereal, and has probably the most beautiful use of berimbau that I have ever heard.

This review is from: Timbalada (Audio CD)
This kind of music is just great, once u hear it u feel an amazing energy and vibe, the great drums and beats like of an african tribe and the sound and rhythm of Brazil going from classic smooth brazilian music to great samba style,if u like ecletic, you'll love this album, its Brazil and its roots at its best energetic style.
