Laura Bailey return to her home town and had plans to help her family's business running the family lodge. Her father has set back with his help and her sister is about the marry so she feels the need to help her family.

Being raised to feel she must always prove herself and not fail in life, Laura is faced with a threat when there is a chance of a new resort being built in the town. She for sees all kinds of losses to the family lodge and wants to fight against the new resort planning to move into Timber Creek.

To make matters even more sticky the former special person of her childhood in the part owner of the construction company who is under contract to rebuilt a property close to their lodge. There are many issues as she knows the construction company needs the business to keep their own lives running smoothly but she fears for her own family's business as well.

Laura and Eddie Jessup who is the part owner in the construction company locks horns many times and the tension between the two makes this a very interesting story. You will be cheering one or the other on in several parts of the story.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Veronica Wolff's books. I enjoy a book that has surprise endings and this one does.

This is the second book in the Sierra Falls series and I loved this book so much better than the first one, Sierra Falls. Laura was a young woman who had lost her prestigious job and boyfriend forcing her to come back home to the place she desperately wanted to get away from as a teenager. She didn't seem very nice in the beginning of this story because she was constantly yelling at everyone and was impatient with most of the staff at her family's lodge. But I connected with this character because I could see that she put up this barrier to try to prove to people that she had it all together when inside she felt like a failure. She never really felt as though she was good enough growing up and when Eddie started working for her family's competition, she did everything in her power to stop the construction. The family business was the only thing that she had left to focus her energy on and she couldn't let that be destroyed.

I loved Eddie because he was sweet, funny and just a great guy that any girl would want for a boyfriend. He had been trying so hard to get Laura to see him in a romantic light and even though he was working on the construction for the new spa, he was never upset with Laura even though she brought up several issues about his work permit at every turn. They were the perfect match for each other even though it took longer for Laura to realize that she had everything she needed to be happy in Sierra Falls right in front of her.

I love small town romances and Veronica Wolff does a wonderful job creating characters that you can fall in love with. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the Sierra Falls series and I have a feeling that I know who the lucky characters are that will find their true happiness next.
