I purchased this and used it to saw 6 or 7 trees without incident. On one tree, the handle snapped at the base. I contacted customer support and provided pictures - the jack was in excellent shape no wear whatsoever. They said that it appeared to be abuse and would not replace the handle. They offered to sell me a replacement for $35 + shipping. They didn't have any handles in stock.... hmmmm wonder why. I would not recommend this to anyone.

My husband just purchased this product to assist in cutting some tree logs. He assembled exactly as the directions stated to do so. He read and followed the directions for use on an oak tree that measured 12" in diameter, which is within the products stated limit. He has done this many times in the past with other similar products while working for a tree service in the past. As he was setting the jack the wooden handle snapped in half and the tree and jack fell on his foot. Luckily he was wearing steel toe boots and they protected him from what could have been a major injury. This product broke immediately on the first attempted use.

I heat with wood and use old log rollers all the time. I have never broke any of the old log rollers. I thought this would be a nice tool to use to get the log off the ground while cutting.
I bought this at a local store. The third log I lifted with it, the steel tore apart on the hook. It looked like cheap steel that they bent to form the hook. At the bend it just ripped on a 14 inch Ash log. Do NOT wast your time and Money on this!!

So I found some cheap firewood on craigslist - as much as I could cut and haul for $50, So I grabbed my 16 foot tandem axle trailer and picked this up on the way. It's not what I "wanted"..as I wanted the much more expensive and made from aircraft aluminum woodchuck quad, however I needed something today, so I bought this at Tractor Supply and was not disapointed once I started moving some heavy oak logs around.

I was in the woods with brush everywhere from where a logging company came through and made a mess, So I was literally tossing/throwing this out of my way when I didn't need it, and lifting some big/long logs up using the jack fuction. I did not have wrenches with me to tighten the bolts, so they were very loose, but I was still lifting big stuff and moving large sections around with no troubles.

There was a pile of BIG logs laying every which way,(which I wanted) so I took off the base, and rolled those suckers off of eachother, and out of there so I could cut them into semi managable pieces. I could not have done gotten the large pieces moved without this, and the jack function kept my chain out of the dirt.

While not my first choice, I was pleased that I bought it. Use common sense when lifting or using it...and it probably will last.
