This is my initial review of the Timberland Mid Field Boot. They were purchased because I needed a durable, and comfortable, pair of waterproof boots for work. Since I was purchasing them for work, I wasn't expecting a great looking boot, but even though there's room for improvement, they're better looking then I expected. Thanks to the good lucks and comfort, I'll probably wear them some outside of work, too (I try not to wear my work boots outside of work.)

While I own boots that are more comfortable, these still hold their own very well in that department. This is partly due to the fact that they fit me great. The only thing I would change would be to add a little more arch support and to make them a little wider. The latter item may also be their biggest downfall, because even though they fit my average width foot fairly well, I worry that they'll be too small with heavy boot socks, which I wear regularly. I also find that the laces are a little too short, but I never worry about laces when I purchase a shoe, since they're inexpensive to replace and often look better, too.

I'll also note that the sole is quite rigid, as a good field boot should be. This is another thing that I think could be better, but it did meet my expectations. I haven't tested how well it keeps my feet dry, but I expect it to do very well. Overall, it seems to be a very durable boot that will last me quite a while.

update 1: The insoles in these are surprisingly very thin. I see this as a good thing, since they're already quite comfortable, because a better insole would probably make them even more comfortable.

Classic field boot. If u have wide feet as I do, you'll need to get the wide size because the boot is a pretty narrow cut. Other than that it's great

I've had these for over three years, basically for winter time and when shoveling snow, it takes some time o break them in, but once you do it's comfortable. As for cleaning any boot cleaner will do, in order to remove salt and dirt. I also purchase replacement boot laces because I do not like the ones they come with, usually you can find the laces at your local sporting goods store for like two dollars.

Normally wear 9,5 and that's what I ordered based on other reviews. Maybe just slightly large for size but that just gives me room for thicker socks. Not hard to break in, were comfortable for me right out of the box. Good looking shoe, am pleased with purchase so far. Bought these as motorcycle boot because my brother has 2 pairs and recommended them.

this is my 2nd pair of these. I love the way they look and they are very durable.

My only gripe is the in-soles. I feel that they were too flat and hard. I had to supplement them with something else to make them wearable all day.

Other than that, I love these boots

Ordered a 2E and the boot was not wide enough even though that is the size he wears. Also my husband can typically wear a 15 and the boot was also was not long enough. Nice boot, but take note of the size when ordering. You might want to go up from your normal.

Been wearing the Timerlands awhile what a American staple it has come, weather all the natural elements. I've also purchase these from the amazon site. Like like the variety Timerlands had the offer. Don't have twist my ankle.

These are great, buy a pair every couple of years and these fit exactly the same. The only thing that looked different was the gray material seemed a lot shiner than i remember. other than that very happy

My wife purchased these for me in new, unworn condition for a mere $10 in a Goodwill recycled clothing store. The color was a discontinued one; a hideous shade of robin's egg blue w/ blueberry accents (!), so I set them a side for two years until I wore out my last pair of work sneaker/hiking boots. (I'm a finish carpenter, and go through two pairs of lightweight work boots per year.)

They are extremely comfortable. There was little 'break-in' required, and the size runs true. (My usual 13D fit perfectly.) They're indeed supportive, waterproof, and breathe well.

My only nitpick with these boots is the soles. Although they are comfortably silent and resilient, they will leave marks on flooring, and they have sustained a surprising amount of damage from relatively light construction site wear. Chunks of 'Vibram' tread lugs have been torn from the bottom, and one of my boots has split its sole nearly all the way through its mid section, from left to right. Perhaps these would have been a better choice for light hiking, but backcountry trails are often in rougher terrain than a muddy construction site...
