Some things I would like to point out:
These boots are much more of a light grey than they show in the picture. The color matches very well to the blue shoelaces.
Get ready for a rough break-in. These were the first things to make my feet bleed since I went through boot camp. Once you get them broke in though, they are very comfortable.
The sole is incredibly thick and rigid. This is probably a good thing for most, but I have difficulty driving my manual car with these because I can't get any feeling on the peddles at all.
Overall, these are great boots. I just had a few niggles that might be good to point out to other prospective buyers.
WATERPROOFNESS: They are "city-waterproof". If you stomp a puddle, your sock will remain dry. If you leave your foot submerged for a few seconds some water will seep in.
FIT: I normally wear a size 10.5/11 shoe. I went with a 9.5 as I bought my first pair of these at Nordstrom Rack. So they run a little large in terms of sizing. However, they fit nicely when you first wear them and there is no real break in period.
LACES: The provided laces are good for a light/medium amount of walking per day. However, they might need to be retied as they are not a grippy type of lace.
EASE OF USE: To put the boots on, I find that you have undo the top 3-5 eyelets. I perfer the hook system, and I do not notice a securer lace tension with the eyelets on this boot
SOLE: Comfortable for all day use, kept my feet warm in -15 (includes windchill) w/ some heavy socks.
BOTTOM: The bottom is in the vein of a hybrid. It reminds me of a wedge boot because it does not pickup and keep snow on the tread. However the tread does not bite into the ground and on ice it becomes slippery.
HIKING: I went for a 2.5 week trip to several national parks and these boots helped me along the way. Hiked about 5-10 miles a day. Ranged from paved paths to the rocks of Badlands NP. When it is wet, the boots do have a tendency to slip a little, so you have to pay attention to your balance. The boots provide good ankle protection and never felt any weakness in my feet.
OVERALL: I have bought these boots for a second time as they are a fantastic hybrid between city and outdoor. The only reason for my 2nd purchase is because I enjoyed the 1st pair enough. And the $76 price point is hard to find in the boot category
Best with fitting jeans 👖.
