I've had these boots for 6 months now; they're falling apart. I've gone threw roughly one shoe string per month on just one boot because of rubbing on one particular eyelet. The sole cracked after 2 months, and the material at the top started separating from the leather over the past 2 months. They've kept my feet safe, but they aren't going to last much longer than a month.

I had my first pair of these boots for 3 years and my second pair for 3 years as well. The second pair I spend 15 bucks at the shoe store to have some parts resewn after about 2 years. I work in all types of environments from industrial to medical. My boots get worn 5 days a week with out fail. These are great boots. I did have the problem with the shoe string breaking on one of the boots about 1.5 years into my second pair. I am going to purchase my 3rd pair now and have no worries about getting another three years from them. I do highly recommend getting some slip in comfort pads. Timberland should send me a free pair for being so loyal.

I've had 3 pairs of this style boot 1st pair lasted over a year second 6 months and now this third pair less than 6 months. They did save my foot though when a 20" I beam fell on the met gaurd, bent the gaurd but my foot wasn't hurt at all. I am thankful for that. I just wish they were a longer lasting boot. I'll keep looking for that perfect welders boot.

The one downside for me was the fit. I have never needed a size 15 in my life, these ones I did. I bought the first pair off of one of the other sellers on Amazon and it was a disaster. They were not Amazon and not prime. It took 10 days to get here, even after telling them I would pay for rapid delivery, and they wanted 14 days to decide to send me replacements. I got the second pair from Amazon themselves, no problems and a lower price.
The boots fit tight, that's just the reality, and they have a stiff sole. For some of you, you will hate the hard soles. I bought it specifically because others had complained they were stiff. I have a torn joint in the ball of my foot that my Carolinas were killing. Both balls of my feet were burning so bad I inserted metal plates in my boots to reduce the flexing on gravel and uneven jointed steel plates. I was crippled by the other boots. Immediately on putting on the Timberlands my pain was gone, it has not returned, and my joint is healing. They are a piece of cake to tie up compared to my high tops. They look built for battle.
I couldn't be more grateful for these boots. The only reason I gave them a four is to bring attention to the fact they are a little small (most reviewers disagree with me, I have had two pair, it's one man's opinion) and some people will hate the stiff soles. I love that about them, but I need that feature. For the right person these are a six, for the wrong person they are a three.

These boots are really comfortable. They fit very well, and at a good price. I would recommend using leather shoelaces, as there are sharp edges on the inside of some of the eyelets. Also, the 'pleather' ankle cushion on the back of the shoe started coming apart from the real leather after about 6 months or so. When it started coming apart I took the boot to a shoe repair shop. It cost me $15 to have him put stitches on both boots, and they have lasted for the past 6 months with no other problems.

The boot is ankle high and has great support. It has a small heel. The steel toe protection runs from the tip of your toes around all five toes and up to the met guard which is steel plate covering the entire forefoot. There is no gap between steel toe and the met guard. When you put on these boats, you feel the whole top of your feet are protected. The boots are also comfortable to wear.

I bought these boots a while back. Took a couple days to break in, no biggie. However, I work in a structural steel plant, and after a couple months the sparks from welding and torching really did a number on the stitching on top of the toe. If you're a welder or do a lot of torching, look for a different boot with either rivets and hidden stitching, or else a seamless toe.

I work in a lot of metal turnings and it is just eating the soles off of these Timberland Pro Men's Met Guard 6" Steel Toe Work Boots.I've only been wearing them for 3 and 1/2 weeks and they're almost worn out already.I wouldn't recommend them for this kind of work, because they just don't last.Other work shoes I've used lasted 6 months or longer.
