My employer gives us a $100 boot allowance every year and it's pretty much impossible to get a decent pair of boots for that price. So, I've been spending close to $180 for these boots locally as there's only one place I know of that stocks them. I bought them from Amazon for about a third of that price! They stand up to 12 hr days on concrete and metal grating and hold up very well. And they allow me to be comfortable during those long days. The toes hold up well, too--they get scraped on the floor a lot due to kneeling down while working on conveyors, etc. After I use them a year at work, I wear them at home for work boots. The two old pairs I have still have plenty of life left in them, the worst wear being to the inside where my heel has rubbed through the liner some. They also seem to break in fast. The first day, they're a little uncomfortable due to being stiff, but on the second day I couldn't tell much difference from the old ones. The insoles are great out of the box, too.

The only negative that I know if for some is that they run narrow. I have long skinny feet and I usually wear a medium (D) width. The mediums fit fine but the wide fits me better, where wide is normally way too wide for me.

(Timberland labels a wide as "W", whereas Amazon labels them "2E" {which to me and every other boot manufacturer means EE, as in extra wide-which is skipping size "E" and going straight to "EE"} Amazon needs to change their sizing description)

I bought these to replace a pair of boots I had good and worn in. I was somewhat reluctant to order without first trying them on, but with the other reviews raving about these boots I took the chance. These boot required no break in period. They felt like I had been wearing them for a while when I first put them on. When I first put them on, they felt somewhat narrow, but after walking in them for a few minutes, that went away. There is also enough room in the toe box to prevent cramped toes with thicker socks.

I purchased these for the summer months since they are un-insulated. The fit is good and they are comfortable for 12hrs on RR ballast but the sole on the right boot has two big chunks taken out already.(2mos) The toe guard is also starting to pull away on one side making that boot less water resistant. I will probably have to replace these in a few more months.

I bought these boots nearly three years ago while working with jet fuel and a degreasing solvent that mimicked jet fuel. I bought them because I needed waterproof boots (when those liquids get in your shoe, it really messes up your skin), and I had recently torn ligaments in my ankle, so I needed 8" boots to lace over the joint. These fit the bill, didn't come with a steel/composite toe (I have really wide feet, my toes rub against all steel toes). I got them for about $130 online, and had them a couple days later.

    The Pros:
-Super comfortable. The insoles are supportive and soft, quite possibly the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn. I had to be on my feet 10-12 hours a day out on the slab, and I'm about 245 lbs, so its a bit of weight to carry. My feet didn't end up hurting at the end of the day.
-Lightweight. Didn't realize this until I put on some Doc Martins. Holy heck are these boots light in comparison. I can run in them, hike, work, or just walk, and its not them tiring me out
-Waterproof. I put an additional layer of waterproofing on (SnoSeal) because the chemicals I worked with wreck everything. I could walk through water about ankle deep in these with no problem.
-Durability: I've worn these boots every work day for two and a half years, in some of the harshest conditions (cryogenic testing, solvent splashes, etc). They've finally worn down inside. Its taken this long for me to really seriously consider replacing them (which I will do with exact copies).

    Cons:
Price: They're not cheap. But as I write this they're $80 on sale, which I paid much more than when I got them
Breath-ability: Like most waterproof boots, they don't breathe that great. Wear wool socks and you'll be ok.
