4.0 out of 5 stars Look awesome, though beware of sizing
I bought a pair of these in 14 W. Usually I try on any pair of shoes I buy, but it's almost impossible to find anything stylish in my size. They are awesome, and I wear them a lot, but definitely not for long periods of time. Most W and 2E width shoes I've bought fit perfectly, but the Timberland Wide seems to be narrower than most, so beware if you need the extra...

I'm submitting this review Apr. 2, 2011. My 2009 review is revised to reflect the updated version of this boot.

It saddens me to report that this boot was modified by Timberland and made much worse. I totally loved the previous version. Here are my findings after buying this latest model:
PROS:
Nothing was improved upon. I will say that, at least, the boot is still waterproof thus far.

CONS:
The worst change is in the shank supporting the middle of the foot. Before, the Rugged Street Chukka was a lot more rigid in the midsole area. It seems now that a weaker, more pliable material has been substituted. This new shank material allows uncomfortable pronation, or twisting and bending, of the shank when stepping onto uneven surfaces. I'd have paid more money if they'd left this design feature the same.

Next, Timberland raised the height of the toe box noticeably. A little might've been okay, but they went overboard for sure. I bought this boot in the correct length and width, but my foot still slides forward due to the tall height of the toe box. Also, the excess height of the toe section makes this boot appear more like a work or strictly outdoor boot. Previously, the design was much more urban and versatile, due to a shorter toe box. All change is not good.

1.0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE!!!, August 26, 2011

I POSTED COMMENTS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE SHOES'S. ( BUT FOR SOMEREASON MY COMMENTS ARE BEING ERASED) I PAID FOR NEW TIMBERLANDS AND THEY SENT ME OLD SHOES. THEY SENT ME SHOES THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY WORN. i BOUGHT A PAIR OF THESE ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. HOWEVER, I ALSO BOUGHT A SUPPOSEDLY NEW PAIR IN JULY. WHEN I RECEIVED THEM THEY LOOKED SO WORN OUT. THEY LOOKED SO USED, I COULDNT TELL THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN MY OLD PAIR AND MY SUPPOSEDLY NEW PAIR! I WOULD OFTEN PUT THE OLD SHOES ON ASSUMING THAT THEY WERE MY NEW SHOES. THIS IS HOW AWFUL THEY LOOK! BEWARE OF SHOEMALL! THEY ARE HORRIBLE! THEY SELL REFURBISHED OR RESUFACED SHOES. SHOE-MALL IS A LOW BUDGET PLACE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Look awesome, though beware of sizing, November 15, 2010
I bought a pair of these in 14 W. Usually I try on any pair of shoes I buy, but it's almost impossible to find anything stylish in my size. They are awesome, and I wear them a lot, but definitely not for long periods of time. Most W and 2E width shoes I've bought fit perfectly, but the Timberland Wide seems to be narrower than most, so beware if you need the extra width. I still get my feet in fine, but I also usually where Orthotics, but the shoes are too narrow for them. All in all they're a good, durable shoe, just beware of sizing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Timberland Street Chukka, May 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Stylish and good looking shoe. Ordered 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear in other brands and they fit perfect. I hear that Timberland sizes usually work that way. Not the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had but feel pretty good and they work well. The bar was set pretty high by my Asics Allwalks Chukkas that haven't been made for a few years. Overall very pleased with the shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Stylish Boots To Go Along With Any Kind Of Pants, November 19, 2009
These are great boots overall. They are very comfortable, and as the other reviews have stated, they are neither too hot for summer or too cold for winter. They are perfect. You're feet feel very light, and its almost as though you are walking on air. As i mentioned in the title, these boots are very stylish. Many of my friends said that they looked like Mocasins from up close, but i dont really see that comparison. Now, I have only one complaint about these shoes. Its hard for me to wear a tight fitting pair of jeans with these shoes. This is partly my fault as well, as i am a large man (6"4 230), i cannot wear a fitting pair of jeans (like Tru Religions, Se7en for all mankind, etc) but since i only wear loose fit jeans, these shoes go PERFECTLY with them, they don't rest on the hanger on the back, and they just look great with any kind of loose fitting pants for me, be it khakis, sweats, or baggy jeans.

I would wholeheartedly recomend buying these boots/shoes. They are very comfortable and look amazing!

3.0 out of 5 stars Need helps, January 9, 2011

I use short time ago, but have to search some first sole to put inside the shoe, because inside isn't ergonomic or haven't the anatomical shape of the feet, I think in order to have an excellent shoe, need another row of holes for the cord and the anatomic or ergonomic insole.

But is good product for the price you pay.

4.0 out of 5 stars A tad more rugged than I imagined, January 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's a good product and appears well made. However, it is quite rugged and with a tall sole it increases my height by an inch. Upon close inspection of the item, it was rather my fault of not having judged this accurately. However, it does what it says on the box, nice shoe, great price.
