Timberland makes sandals with soft leather that gets even softer with wear. These are comfortable right out of the box, and very well-made. I found the fit to be as expected. I wear a size 8, ordered an 8, and they fit perfectly.
One caveat: don't order the tan, it's an ugly color. I sent them back and got the brown.
From past experience with Timberland products, I think these will last through 3 or 4 seasons.

PS: I've been wearing these for 6 weeks now, and they get softer & more comfortable with each wearing.

The sandal looks nice, but the fit was poor for me. It's made for longer toes I guess; my heel and everything was where they should be, but I had 3/4 inch beyond my toes that made me trip just walking in my house. I normally wear a 7.5 - 8.0. So, bought the 7.5. The red was also a bit darker red than what the picture looked - still nice. I had to return.

This is a VERY comfortable sandal.
My foot is average width, and medium to low instep.
I do have long toes, in case you wonder.
Bought several pairs of sandals this summer, but
none came close to this quality.
NO MORE AVERAGE PRICED SANDALS FOR ME!
