I am in LOVE with these boots. For years I've never even considered purchasing these because I thought they'd be clunky and would make my feet look enormous. Never have I been so wrong about something. After destroying my Uggs in the rain and snow and getting tired of wearing my unfashionable Merrell hiking shoes (I own a short sneaker like pair and a tall more substantial tall boot), I knew I needed to find something else and quick. I live in Boston and with the New England winter coming up, I finally gave in and took a chance ordering these boots. I am so, so, so glad I did.

Fit:
Reading all the reviews saying to size down a half or whole size, I decided to go with a 7.5 instead of my normal 8. They fit great and there's plenty of room for lightweight and medium weight socks. It's still possible to wear an extra thick sock even if it is a bit of a snug fit. I rarely wear super thick socks though so I don't think it will be a problem. The 8 would have been too roomy wearing regular or medium weight socks. During warmer times of the year when I want to wear these, I'd like them to fit well wearing thin socks which would be a problem with my regular size 8. Another plus of having to size down is my feet actually look smaller than they do in any other kind of shoe in my regular size even though they're that big work boot style which usually makes your feet look larger. Crazy! Love it.

Style:
These boots are surprisingly attractive and fashionable. I've tried wearing them with the laces done up all the way as well as only halfway with the tongue sticking out a little. I think both ways are great, but I really love the partly unlaced look and there's no issue with them slipping off because of the high ankle. They look good with skinny jeans tucked in, but I almost always wear socks over my skinny jeans and I like that look even better with these boots. I scrunch them down if they're knee high socks and it's really cute. Look great with both fashion and active wear leggings.

I can't believe I've survived without these boots for so long. I wish I would've bought them years ago! Don't make my mistake. These are a must-have for everyone.

*Note: I tried the Teddy Fleece Fold Down boots along with these because I am new to the Timberland brand and wasn't sure what I really wanted. The Teddy style was kind of weird to me. They are a lighter color although both are called "wheat." I liked the look of the original Timbs better with the black in the back. I think they need a break of color and the Teddy didn't have that. They also made my feet look huge which I was trying to avoid (and did with the original boot). So if you are trying to decide between those two styles like I was, I would recommend the original 6". That's my personal preference, but I think you really can't go wrong with them because they're a style that's been around for ages.

The boots are great. She typically wears a 7.5 - 8 shoe (more often a 7.5). We got these in a 7.5 and she needs to wear thick socks to make them fit as she would like. Partly contributing to that is the fact that it seems the style for these boots (for a 19 year old) is to wear the laces very loosely tied!

Foot Locker states this shoe runs 1 size big. Are they correct? Yes. I suggest you order 1 size smaller than your normal shoe size. For example, I'm 10.5, so I should order a 9.5...

I read the reviews of women saying to order a size or half of a size down since they seem to run big. I am typically a size 10, so I went down to a 9.5 and was very disappointed with the fit. It fit as a 9.5 should fit. I had to exchange them for a size 10, and now they fit perfectly. I would not recommend going down a size or even half.

this boots arrived just today and they fit perfect, i ordered a 9.5 W and i must say i mostly use 10.5 size shoes so you might want to consider ordering one size less for timberland boots. well with that said, this boots look great and really are very confortable.

I received the boots today and they were exactly as expected. Very sturdy construction, not cheaply made. I was on the fence with listening to the reviews of ordering a smaller size since they run large. I am always a size 10 but wear a 9 in Uggs so I was thinking this might be the same case since 65% of reviewers said they fit one size to a half a size bigger. I decided to order a 9.5 and they do fit but I wish I had the extra room that the 10 would have provided, especially with thicker socks in the winter. My foot is not a bit wide either, I would say more on the narrower side and my feet feel constricted--wished I would have ordered the wide actually. I might exchange them but a warning that the M fits more like a narrow foot and a winter boot needs extra room for thick socks. Also, I wouldn't size down.

Just got my boots not too long ago... I LOVE THEM ALREADY. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 in sneaker shoes. So I got an 8.5 in the boot. They fit really good. They're a little tight but I'm sure they'll break in. And they look good too. They don't look too big or bulky. I'm very satisfied :)

I usually wear a size 7 B(M), but it seemed that the boots ran a little large, so I went out on a limb and ordered the 6.5 as the only size 7's remaining were Wide rather than Medium. The fit is a bit snug, but I'm not planning on wearing thick socks - saving these for a rainy day!
