I bought one of these to keep in my Jeep as a back up. When I did in fact need to use it, I found it to be rugged, compact and a real life saver! It is rather heavy and short which is good. It is made so solid that it will outlast the owner. Sharp as a razor right out of the box. It can do the work of a knife and a hatchet. If I were going to be stranded in the wild and could take only one tool, this would be my choice!

It is small enough to fit comfortably enough in one hand to be used in a way similiar to how you would use a knife but has the weight and strength of an axe. It can also be worn on a belt and doesn't hang much bigger or heavier than a big knife. This really does a good job of combining the functionality of both a knife and an axe.

Like a dummy I bought mine from a tool truck, and paid about double what I would have here, but I still love this little axe! I've hade mine for about three years now and I have to say this little guy is very very good for its size, holds an edge well and can be used for many tasks that you would normaly use a knife for. I've used it to feather sticks with, chop wood, pound stakes, and cut poles and to skin deer! and i've only had to sharpen it a couple of times witch leads me to my next point, becarful with the edge it is hollow ground and not as strong as a normal axe but twice as sharp! All in all very good product I recomend it!

The hatchet came to me in the mail pretty quickly. The quality was apparent as soon as I held in in my hands. The handle felt durable with two large flat head bolts holding it together. The weight of this thing is surprisingly more than I imagined. Despite the short length it can gain enough momentum for moderate chopping chores. I really like the black leather sheathe! So cool, like Blondie on Sucker Punch, it has loops for a belt and hangs down around mid thigh. Two snap buttons hold it in place, on top and on the back. There was a minor tiny tiny flat spot on the blade but that's about it. I admit, I have not used it yet simply cause I want it to be in the best shape when I actually need it, so I can not comment on the quality of the metal. Thanks.
