Sturdy, Good Looking Seat Bag: Size Small,
This review is from: Timbuk2 Bicycle Seat Pack (Sports)
I've had the small size for about four years, that's more than 15,000 miles of sun, wet, salt, and grime. I just now retired it as the Velcro is not quite sticky enough any more. The only other thing that's happened is that the rubber-like cording around the edges has become cracked, probably from UV. I was able to cram into it a tube, CO2 inflator, spare CO2 cartridge, 2 tire levels, a small patch kit, and 3 loose Allen wrenches - but it was like a puzzle getting this all in.
PROS: Mounts very securely to the rails of the saddle (until the Velcro gave out), with no swaying. The walls are lined with a slightly stiff material, so that it keeps it's shape and looks really good on the bike. And it's well made. I've had no problem with the Velcro straps rubbing or grabbing my shorts. CONS: It's kind of small, the nose narrows significantly (the size and shape is one reason it looks good).

I was after a small under seat bag, but wowza, this one is very small. I can fit one tube, and a CO2 gun, and a pair of skinny tire "irons" and that's it. And that barely fits. Would be nice if it was just a teeeeesy bit bigger to fit keys, and maybe my iphone.
Otherwise, I like it. Nice construction, easy to attach, doesn't rattle around. I mean, it's a bike seat pack/bag. It works fine.

Destroys cycling shorts,
This bag is incredibly well made, and with a few changes would be top notch. However, the hook and loop closure tha fits around the seatpost eats holes in cycling shorts. After a long ride, a brand new pair of shorts were completely destroyed! Additionally, the velcro straps that fix the pack to the seat rails tend to come undone, especially when riding in rough terrain. This makes the Timbuk2 seat pack especially ill-suited for use on an MTB. Skip it.

Timbuk2 Seat Bag Won't Stay Attached,
This review is from: Timbuk2 Bicycle Seat Pack (Sports)
I was a dissatisfied user of the first iteration of Timbuk2 seat bag (medium). The velcro end on the seat post tab tore through several pair of bib shorts. Timbuk2 fixed the tab issue so I bought another one in March. I am not happy with the new one either. The rail velcro straps do not stay attached. I just completed a week long cycling trip of 330 miles and multiple times everyday I had to stop and reattach the side straps. I knew it was an issue before the trip but for capacity the bag is perfect for me. The fabric is topnotch and appearance is great. I was even willing to overlook that there was no loop for attaching a tail light. My seat rails are standard. The bag contains one tube, a small Park (inch square) patch kit, two Park plastic tire levers, two CO2 cartridges and thin plastic gloves. I shouldn't be surprised but Timbuk2 won't post this review on their customer reviews of this product. I am researching for another bag. I have had it with Timbuk2.

Great little pack, but could use a reflector on it,

This is a great product. It fits my spare, tire levers, a tool, with alittle more to spare. It is securely placed on my bike. However, given the placement on my bicycle (right under the seat), I think that this would be better improved if there was a reflector on it, or a loop to fit a bike light clip in. Hopefully those guys at timbuk2 will sew on some in the future, if they're interested in how to improve their product. Other than that, it's great.

Not mountain biking!,

The Velcro straps are way to short and don't create a secure attachment of the bag. They come loose very quickly when the trails turns bumpy and then the bag falls off somewhere in the woods with your expensive multi-tool & Co2 pump in it to be lost (let me just say I was glad my car key was in my jersey pocket and not the stupid bad!!!). You then have to replace a lot more than the bag. If you do any off road cycling, don't buy a saddle bag that does not have a full loop attachment system!

Pack is good for small articles, keys and wallet, maybe small tools and a rolled up tube. Easily secured and good fit, no need to adjust, out of package and installed in seconds.

It is bigger than normal seat bags, but then I wanted it for my wallet, phone and camera, and patch kit and multi-tool....plus keys...yes that is a lot of gear, but now its not in my pockets! It will get dirty, so the white is going to be a tanish grey very quick!

Like some of the other reviewers have said, the bag is a lot smaller than you'd think and fits even less. I got the LARGE bag from the warning of the other reviews, but for my purposes, even the large bag is too small! The bag looks nice, and I can't comment on whether they'll tear shorts/tights or not, but I'll have to see once I start using this. [If it does seem like it'll wear shorts out, I'll probably just line the rubber tubing with electrical tape]
Pros: The material does seem nice, but I'll probably have to update this review much later once I put many many miles on the bag. Cons: Tiny! In my opinion. I got the large because the dimension length was just long enough for a mini-pump I wanted to buy, which is 7.1" in length while the bag is stated to be 8".. but no matter how I see it, there's no way I'll be able to put the pump in there along with what I'd need. It can only fit 1 Road tube, my Env2 cell phone [which is tiny compared to all the smart phones these days], and my car keys with a mini-swiss army knife attached to it.. and it's jam packed, so there'll be absolutely no carrying a wallet for me; just a few bills, license and maybe one credit card. The dimensions are indeed ergonomic but I don't think it's practical.. for me. You wouldn't be able to fit gloves or arm warmers if you needed to, but I suppose clothing type material like the gloves and arm warmers could go in the jersey pockets if you wanted to take them off mid-ride. Hopefully the bag won't have problems keeping itself velcroed and attached to the seat as one other reviewer was stating it was having problems doing.

This is a high quality bike bag. Fits snuggly on my bike and straps in securely. The size I bought (L) has room for my iPhone, tool set and keys, plus a few extras like a GU or Kleenex. It looks good, matches my bike and gets the job done.
