4.0 out of 5 stars Alternate takes on History
This is a collection of short stories that all involve Time Travel or Alternate History elements to them - some of these are good and clever, and some are just short of the mark - but which ones are the best for you depends on your tastes - I am sure that the stories that I did not like, other folks will and vice-versa, so all in all this is a good collection that will...

3.0 out of 5 stars Time Travel Stories...Some Hits, Mostly Misses!
I've been a sucker for short stories dealing with time travel ever since I read Ray Bradbury's wonderful 'Sound of Thunder' tale. Bradbury's story of dinosaur hunting gone terribly wrong is still a wonder after all these years!

This review is from: Time After Time (Paperback)
I've been a sucker for short stories dealing with time travel ever since I read Ray Bradbury's wonderful 'Sound of Thunder' tale. Bradbury's story of dinosaur hunting gone terribly wrong is still a wonder after all these years!

I'd like to say this collection of 16 original time travel and alternative history tales is a collective wonder but no such luck. I enjoyed several stories: the 'Godspeed' story featuring John Glenn; the Khubilai Khan 'To Lasso a Divine Wind' tale; the Tutankhamun 'Me, Myself and Ay' story; etc. They told their stories cleanly and effectively without being too wordy, without tons of metaphysical techno-babble or without being too tongue-in-cheek clever. Most of the stories however didn't do much for me.

Since we're only talking $7.50 here, if you're a time travel aficionado, buy a copy. You may find 'Time After Time' a delight. I didn't.
