This record is not really a compilation. It shows the very best of Papa Roach at stage and at the studio. And it rocks! I don't get tired of listening to it!

These guys are very good. This CD is very good the only dissappointment is that it is a really short CD and to fill the space, they put some live songs of their older albums up.

New songs plus Live tracks...truly the best of both worlds for Papa Roach fans,
This review is from: Time For Annihilation: On The Record & On The Road (MP3 Download)
I am a huge fan of the live stuff that Papa Roach releases and since their release of "Live and Murderous in Chicago" I've been waiting for something like this. Not only do you get the 5 new releases, which are amazing, you also get live tracks recorded while on the Cruefest tour. If you've never had the pleasure of seeing these guys on tour, this will give you a feel of what you've missed out on and for those who have been out to their shows, this album is sure not to disappoint.

Absolutely Incredible! Papa Roach is proving it on their own.,

The arrangement is awesome! The studio tracks and the live performance is exactly what they needed to get the full charge of "out on their own".
It IS different! It ROCKS! The adrenaline pumping melt your face off sound comes out loud and proud. You find your self banging your head and jamming like you were at the show. (Trying to keep this G rated so I may not be as descriptive as I'd like to be) A true P Roach fan, and many new listeners will LOVE IT! An amazing new start for them. As Jacoby would say," If you like Us, Love Us. If you don't, Hate Us. Nothing in the middle" "Everything we do comes from the f***ing heart. You know what I'm sayin'? This music; every beat, every lyric, every riff, comes from this mo****f****n' heart. And these three other hearts. I love these guys."

New songs rock, live tracks rock...whole album ROCKS!,

Papa Roach since their debut back in 2000 with "Infest" has experimented with a few different styles of music - from rapping nu metal to alternative rock, to their current, hard rock - on every album they've released. What that shows is a band transitioning in their career while trying to find that right sound that they can stick with and be comfortable with. Every band you listen to has experimented with something different at one point in their career and has either found success with it, or has gone back to what they had before.
Papa Roach is one of those bands that excels no matter what style they choose. On their newest release, "Time For Annihilation..On the Record, and On The Road" Jacoby and Co. decided to make it more of a greatest hits/live album with 5 new songs thrown in, and what you get as an end result is something pretty incredible. Each new song stands out on it's own because each sounds like it's reflecting on those different styles they've played around with over the years. "No Matter What" is the song I can see being their next singe/video, but every song is worthy. Now on to the second half of the CD, the live tracks. The selection is awesome, and the audio quality is great, the crowd level really gives it a little extra energy, and although it would have been nice to see at least one song off "lovehatetragedy", maybe "Born with Nothing, Die with Everything" overall it's a great mix of old classics and new hits. I've been a fan of Papa Roach since 2000 and have enjoyed every album they've come out with, so I'm happy to add this newest one to my collection.

This CD was a big disappointment. If you want a live CD in which the band's singer actually "sings" the lyrics, then don't buy this one. This CD filled with too much unnecesary chatter by Jacoby Shaddix and then he has the audience sing half of the lyrics while he sits back and listens.

Too much product,

When a band starts to put out too much product the appreciation level starts to decrease. That being said, Papa Roach don't have a bad album. But, are they starting to rush releases like Sevendust? That's up to you to decide. I however, will pass on this release because it seems like a waiste of money even with a few new songs added to the mix. How about a full unedited live album instead? Any ideas?

Lesson learned. I never knew (& I'm over 35!) that I needed to research buying a cd to be sure it wasn't live cuts. What a bullpuckie thing to publish. I don't want to blast a live cd while I'm going down the road. I don't want crowd noise from a crowd I wasn't in. I bought this at a retail store b/c I needed something to listen to at work. It's annoying to have crowds screaming when You work a front desk.
I appreciate the hits but I'm a casual fan that wanted a good cd. I liked what I heard on the radio so I wanted to buy it. Big mistake. I bought a few new tracks for the price of a full album. I'll be selling this soon & just buying what I want off Amazon individually. |
