From Booklist

Jane Westover is a lawyer so committed to her job that she is too busy for family and friends. When a letter from an aunt she barely remembers arrives asking for her help in a legal matter, she pays it little heed. Then one day she has a small stroke, unusual in someone her age and wholly attributed to the stress of her lifestyle. The doctor strongly suggests she take a six-month leave of absence. Shaken, she complies, then decides to visit her aunt in the small Somerset town of Cossenford. At first her aunt is blunt and off-putting, and Jane's other relatives are even less welcoming. Yet there's something about the small town that calls to her, and after repeated visits, Jane develops a warm relationship with her aunt and an interest in preserving the unique area of her birth. But all too soon she must make a choice between her career and the family she has grown to love in this heartwarming story of a woman at a crossroads in her life, a place many readers will be familiar with.
