4.0 out of 5 stars Classic thrash album with awkward packaging, April 3, 2009
This review is from: Time Does Not Heal (Dlx) (Audio CD)
Dark Angel's Time Does Not Heal is an excellent thrash metal album. I like this one better than Leave Scars, but not as much as Darkness Descends or We Have Arrived (both of which feature original singer Don Doty). Ron Rinehart seems more comfortable and confident in his vocals on Time, which turned out to be the band's swan song. The music is more intense and melodic than their previous effort. I don't care for The Black Edition due to the package, which is much larger than the standard CD cases and doesn't fit in with a collection. The sound quality is great though. The book includes lyrics but not much else. If I were to buy this again I'd get the "regular" version, not The Black Edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 listen to An Ancient Inherited Shame n thats all, December 17, 2010
This review is from: Time Does Not Heal (Dlx) (Audio CD)
Just take one good listen to An Ancient Inherited Shame, n you will see why this album is so coveted within Thrash circles. There is much more melody n more complex songs on this cd than Darkness Descends. I feel this album definitely should have gotten more recognition. These songs get stuck in your mind long after they are done.

Unlike Darkness Descends there is very little high pitched wailing, because there is a new singer n he carries n makes these songs his definitely. Perfect vocals n crushing riffs, most songs run from 6 to 8 min long.

This album makes me want to learn every riff n play it over n over, the songs are that good. My picks for best songs are: An Ancient Inherited Shame ( Addicting as hell), A Subtle Induction( Incredible Riffs ), Time Does Not Heal, Act Of Contrition, Sensory Deprivation ( Excellent beginning ), Get this Album!!!! All of you who got the chance to see Dark Angel live in the late 80s n early 90s I'm so jealous of y'all!

Too bad Dark Angel is no longer around it would be great if they reformed n made a new album like the Bay Area legends Forbidden did this year! Check out the new Forbidden album Omega Wave it is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars under appricated thrash classic, May 21, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Time Does Not Heal (Dlx) (Audio CD)
darkangel has been around since 84 and typically shown that they are an original thrash/speed metal band, early on sounding like they had more alike slayer and metallicas kill em all but later on developing a more original sound but till time dosen't heal they had not yet been an unstopible force in thrash, this cd shows they are more than fast, technical and aggressive but now they have evolved to a brutally heavy and developed a powerfully mechinized solid sound like no other thrash metal band at the time.sadly this was their last cd but the best cd they ever did,If they continued to record cds they would have been equaled to testament, exodus and overkill after the big four but they didn't this cd is classic must have for any thrash fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another progressive thrash classic!, March 30, 2009
This review is from: Time Does Not Heal (Dlx) (Audio CD)
Same thing I said about Leave Scars: get it you won't regret it. It's a classic of the original thrash bands from the 80's/90's!
