3.0 out of 5 stars Encompasses a lot of rock influences, May 17, 2005
This review is from: Time Doesn't Notice (Audio CD)
The Good
"Perfect" has a subtle introduction that's followed by Ben Lauren's angered and passionate vocals about how someone can put themselves on such a high pedestal. The unforgettable ladie-dadie hook of "When I'm Gone" (Sadie) is sure to get stuck in your subconscious. Poor heart-broken Ben has no luck with his childhood crush as he takes a bottle to the head for his troubles.

"It's Alright" has a Tom Petty feel to it with its understated country-ish guitar licks and catchy chorus. "How Could I" is lead buy a repetitive fuzzy riff and relatable lyrical content. The guitar solo may be brief, but it is worth ever note. "Mother Sunday" is an acoustic ballad of sorts that has plenty of soul in its execution. A bluesy guitar riff kicks off "Time". As the guitar fades away, Ben takes over with more of his enduring and encompassing vocals.

The Bad
Nothing notable

The Verdict
Time Doesn't Notice encompasses a lot of rock influences musically, while delivering thought-provoking and familiar themes lyrically.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Rock Album, May 9, 2005
By
Scott Groeniger (Tallahassee, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Time Doesn't Notice (Audio CD)
No Address is a band with many influences. You can hear them in the inspired guitar textures of Phil Moreton and Justin Long, textures that are RAW yet very refined; lush and at the same time hard rocking and melodic. No Address has cultivated a great layered organic sound that sits on top of a SOLID core of bass and drums. This album is not to be missed. The studio production level is outstanding thanks to John Kurtzweg's (Creed , Puddle of Mudd) amazing attention detail. This album has set the bar VERY high for this band. I think their biggest challenge will be to make the next album as solid as this one is. Every track on this disc is a tightly woven mix of sounds and words addressing feelings of suffering, sweetness, pain and pleasure all wound into a tightly wrapped old school rock package -HUGE guitars, BIG drums, SOLID BASS and killer vocals. Can't wait for the next album!

I fell in love with this group when I saw them starting up in Tallahassee. I've seen them multiple times and can't get enough. Truly a great band and the lead singer has an awesome voice
