This is good ole country with beautiful blue eyes and a powerful voice.
I now have all of her cd's and this is a landmark cd for her. Her talents are strong and ever present during this recording. Songs like THE TIME HAS COME, CHEAP WISKEY and TRUE BLUE FOOL provide us with the typical country sound that we are all used to. I now know where the Dixie Chicks took some of their cues from.
This cd marks the debut of what will be one of country music's finest voices.
This cd is deeply enriched in the sound of country music. I have to say that this was a good launching point for Martina. Her later projects are not as "typical" country.But they provide us with so much fun and so much talent to enjoy, that you forget that it is atypical country. Her other cds (Emotion, Wild Angels and Greatest Hits) have touched on a new concept called pop-country. She will continue to be one of the most beloved and talented women in music today and in future.
I am glad to love her and her music.

FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE I WILL REMEMBER THE STORY TOLD BY MARTINA MCBRIDE ON CMT ABOUT HOW HARD IT WAS TO BREAK INTO THE MUSIC BUSINESS. SHE WENT ON TO TELL ABOUT HOW SHE PUT HER DEMO IN A PURPLE ENVELOPE AND MAILED IT IN. SOMEHOW IT GOT NOTICED, AND THE REST WAS HISTORY. NOW MARTINA MCBRIDE IS PROBABLY (OVERALL) THE BEST FEMALE VOCALIST TO COME OUT OF NASHVILLE, OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER. THIS DEBUT ALBUM HAS SOME REALLY GREAT SONGS ON IT. I AM HAPPY THAT I BOUGHT IT WHEN IT WAS FIRST ON THE MARKET. I HAVE NEVER KNOWN ANYONE TO BE DISAPPOINTED BY MARTINA MCBRIDE. MY ADVICE, BUY A COPY OF ALL THE MARTINA MCBRIDE ALBUMS, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPPOINTED!

I have looked for this CD everywhere and my son told me to look on Amazon. I found it and was tickled to death. I owned this CD at one time & had it stolen. My favorite track on this CD is Cheap Whiskey. It was a hit for Martina and this is her first CD. Thank you Amazon for having it.
