This is good ole country with beautiful blue eyes and a powerful voice.
I now have all of her cd's and this is a landmark cd for her. Her talents are strong and ever present during this recording. Songs like THE TIME HAS COME, CHEAP WISKEY and TRUE BLUE FOOL provide us with the typical country sound that we are all used to. I now know where the Dixie Chicks took some of their cues from.
This cd marks the debut of what will be one of country music's finest voices.
This cd is deeply enriched in the sound of country music. I have to say that this was a good launching point for Martina. Her later projects are not as "typical" country.But they provide us with so much fun and so much talent to enjoy, that you forget that it is atypical country. Her other cds (Emotion, Wild Angels and Greatest Hits) have touched on a new concept called pop-country. She will continue to be one of the most beloved and talented women in music today and in future.
I am glad to love her and her music.

I have looked for this CD everywhere and my son told me to look on Amazon. I found it and was tickled to death. I owned this CD at one time & had it stolen. My favorite track on this CD is Cheap Whiskey. It was a hit for Martina and this is her first CD. Thank you Amazon for having it.

If you are a McBride completest, there is nothing disappointing on this CD. For those of us who are not, however, this one probably isn't worth the money. The songs are decent, but largely forgettable and McBride's voice lacks some of the sparkle it will develop on later CDs.

Martina, has a voice of an angel,This was Martina's debut album it is a great introduction to her vocial talents,it is a wonderful country album.

Martina started out her career with a real traditional sound before been forced to go more Pop/Country!!
I love this album.Although she didn't score any hits on this album(that's country radio's loss) it's still a fantastic collection of classic hurtin' country.
From the touching single That's Me and the sorrowful single Cheap Whiskey(about a man who loses the love of his life because of his alcohol addiction)which also includes Garth Brooks on harmonies,to the sweet beautiful ballad When You Are Old,written by Gretchen Peters.Other great ballads are Losing You Feels Good and the lovely A Woman Knows.
Of course there's also some great honky tonk toe tapping gems like the title track The Time Has Come,Walk That Line and the lovely gospel - like song The Rope.
If you really love your country music and Martina McBride you have to have this album in your collection..You won't be disappointed!!

Martina McBride has without a doubt the best voice in country music today. Her vocals and depth and range and powerhouse voice cant be compared to anyone today. Even back then when Martina was first starting out, she had the "it" factor. I love Time Has Come- very country sounding and just what a treat to hear Martina from the start!!

This is classic Martina. One that you should absolutely have in your collection. I was very happy with how fast I received my order, but especially the fact that it was the correct cd. I have tried to order it other places before and either got the wrong cd or they said it was on back order and I never recieved it.

Martina McBride's "The Time Has Come" is the best debut album ever. It is country in its purest forms. "The Time Has Come" is filled with awesome lyrics. My favorite tracks are: "The Time Has Come," "Cheap Whiskey," (with a message attached to it) "Walk that Line," "A Woman Knows," "True Blue Fool," "I Can't Sleep" and the album's strongest work is "That's Me" in my opinion. Martina McBride is an amazing singer!! This album is a great introduction to her craft. Make sure you add this cd to your collection!
