5.0 out of 5 stars Sonic Metal that takes you to another Place, April 7, 2002
By Mark Bertram Farmer (Renton, Washington United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This CD is absolutely SONIC. I love this CD, it will wring you out and leave you bruised and battered. Want to forget all the BS that is bothering you and escape into heavy metal euphoria? This CD will do it. It is a great CD for first time Crowbar buyers because it probably has more variety than any other Crowbar CD. It has more up-tempo songs than other Crowbar CDs, and actually thrashes in places. And of course, there's a few slow, crushing songs for which Crowbar is famous. The drumming on this CD is the best of any Crowbar in my opinion, lots of great tom tom runs. In places the drumming steals the song. Also, there are some heavy breaks where the guitar stops and the bass just pounds out the rhythm. The vocals are a bit rough as usual; bellowing and powerful, but not death metal. There's actually some places where Kirk sings "normal" and sounds good doing it. If you like very heavy metal, and don't mind it slowed down a bit below speed metal, this CD is essential. I personally believe that no metal collection is complete without at least one Crowbar CD in the same way it's not complete without at least one Mettallica, Slayer, Megadeth, or Pantera. Nobody sounds like Crowbar - it just doesn't get any heavier than this - SONIC. Buy this CD!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Heavy, punishing sludge, January 20, 2003
By A Customer
Crowbar is heavy as hell. This CD is a bruiser, but it is actually beautiful in places as well. This is my first Crowbar CD, though I'd previously heard Kirk playing with Down and even seen him live with them. The Vocals are absolutely outstanding, and I'd equate the rest of the band's sound a cross between prime Black Sabbath and Alice in Chains, only much heavier. Anyway, this is a great all around album and one any serious metalhead should give a listen to. I think it might even be the cure for some kiddies who think angst-rock like Staind and Linkin Park is where it's at. Crowbar is toxic Louisianna sludge that absolutely crushes pop driven wannabes like that. I only gave the album 4 stars because their slow, plodding doom is something I can't enjoy quite as often as most of my other albums. But if I'm in the right mood, or just haven't listened to it in a day or two, Time Heals Nothing provides a great listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the one!, January 29, 2009
This album is H E A V Y. It's one of those that hypnotizes you, and you find yourself slowbanging to it without realizing what you're doing. I have all of Crowbar's albums, and this one is just the one for me. It was stolen from my car many years ago, and I never bought it back until today...and I basically didn't have to because I could replay it in my head anytime I wanted. It's that good. That is, if you're into sludge and doom and hardcore...I would definitley check this one out.
