Book Description

Becky is a typical thirteen year old girl. She likes Facebook, gossiping and plenty of sleep. So when she and her brother, Joe, are invited to stay with their 'loony' Uncle Percy at his stately home, she thinks it’ll be the worst summer ever. What she doesn't realise is that Bowen Hall is also home to a baby Triceratops, two Sabre-tooth tigers and the mythic hero, Will Scarlet...

'The Time Hunters' is a thrilling adventure that takes Becky, Joe, Uncle Percy and Will on a quest through time to find the legendary Golden Fleece.

The Clock is ticking....

REVIEWS:

'I really enjoyed reading THE TIME HUNTERS. You start off the action with a bang, drawing the reader in right away. Your writing is strong, and in places has a classic feel....It has terrific potential.'
HARPER COLLINS

This is a wonderful adventure. It has the magic of Lewis Carroll and Kenneth Grahame, the inventiveness of Roald Dahl and the writing skill of Rudyard Kipling in my opinion. It is the natural successor to Harry Potter. Brilliant!

About the Author

I was born on the17th August 1968, during the interval of a Crewe Male Voice Choir concert at the local theatre. This was particularly fortunate for my dad who was a fanatical choir member and meant he could give me a swift kiss, before sprinting from the hospital to perform in the second half. At school, I resisted my career teacher’s advice which was to become a postman, and attended Bournemouth University. Upon graduating, I worked in the television industry before becoming a lecturer. In 2006 I took a year’s sabbatical and lived in the South West of France where I wrote the first draft of ‘The Time Hunters.’ I enjoy travelling, cooking, and nice pots. I live in a tiny and delightful house, with my tiny and delightful girlfriend, my tiny and delightful daughter and my fat and somewhat less than delightful cat.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book! October 30, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book after reading a thread on the discussion board, and I am so glad that I did! This was the most enjoyable book I've read in a long time! As an American, it took me a little while to translate certain British terms in my head. And in the beginning I felt the adjectives were a little overboard. (Reminded me a little of old Nancy Drew books....as the slim sleuth skillfully backed her sky-blue roadster onto the tree line boulevard.....)

But all of this quickly became unimportant because I was caught up in the plot. What a rich story from a vivid imagination! I was drawn in, entranced by the story and characters. While this may be children's book, it definitely appeals to the older reader as well. The only downside for me was that it didn't last long enough! I certainly hope that the author will write many more in this series!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Needs a DeLorean November 15, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I saw a thread about this book in the discussion boards. It seemed OK, so I downloaded it. I was reading a little here and there during my breaks. But, suddenly by breaks went from 15 to 30 minutes. I decided I wasn't having a very productive day and I needed to do something before I got fired.

The book is well written and a lot of humor in the dialogue. Lots of twist and turns in the plot. If you like time travel books with a lot of myths thrown in, you'll like this book.

Carl: Hurry up with the next book, plz. You can't leave me hangin' here.

4.0 out of 5 stars An engaging read November 1, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book, even though I'm far from being in the target audience of 'young' adults! The story was good, the characters were well-rounded, the author has a sound knowledge of history which he's able to weave into the story very well. There were a few oddities, but nothing that would faze the target audience. I wish I had an Uncle Percy, too! Overall, an entertaining, light, read for amost all ages from 'tween to grandparent!

Note on the Kindle edition: There were some minor formatting issues. The ones that jumped out at me were a few instances where words (or a couple of words) were repeated; and one instance where an important word was omitted altogether.
