If you tune into country stations these days, you can hear lots of richly orchestrated pop music with a bit of a southern accent. Used to be there was a thing called country music, though. That's where The Time Jumpers come in (along with folks like Asleep At The Wheel.) And this is very much a band, where everybody gets a turn and where nobody outshines the others. Sure Vince Gill is the big name but he, for all his amazing musical skills and wonderful tenor, is only a sometimes lead singer. These folks have figured it out. Play the music we want to play, make it sound like country music is supposed to and the heck with the rest of it all. Because they have plenty of work, they can do what they want. And it's all here- homages to Texas, blue yodels, upbeat two-steps, lonesome blues, fiddle solos, even a Bob Wills-like "here come those boys" sneaks in. No surprise the it's on Rounder records, who have been doing what they themselves want for decades. Do yourself a favor and get it, this and anything else by the Jumpers. And go for a ride with the music blaring.

I'll buy everything they put out. One of the best old time western swing bands around. If you like Asleep at the Wheel, the Quebe Sisters, or Bob Wills you will love this album.

This group has a stunning amount of talent. This group has THREE current members of Vince Gill's touring band in it. Vince himself, singer Dawn Sears & drummer Billy Thomas. This release is EPIC. The amount of chops in this band is unheard of. If you are a fan of good music then this is a no brainer for sure. This release will win a Grammy NO DOUBT!!!!!

All the band members are individually great artists, together the band...
I saw the Time Jumpers band on the TV show Bluegrass Underground and had to have this album. Don't buy this album for only Vince Gill, buy it for all the band members.

Very Decent CD
This CD was worth buying but I do like their earlier live album better. This music will appeal to those who still like western swing.

texas swing
Good music but you have to like texas swing..i.e. bob willis or asleep at the wheel.vince gill takes second fiddle as great as he is.
