3.0 out of 5 stars Lovers on the Move
Rochelle brings back unforgettable characters as well as introduces some new and exciting characters. Whoever thought that journalist Gwyn Taylor from Happily Ever After would move down south not only move down south but fall in love with a man from the south at that. This story is almost like a fair tale with a little suspense and a lot of action my only concern is if...

5.0 out of 5 stars A book to keep and savor..., June 4, 2006
This review is from: A Time to Keep #15 (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read "Happily Ever After," which featured Lauren Taylor Samuels awhile ago. So, it was nice catching up with her cousin Gwendolyn Taylor in a "A Time To Keep." Gwendolyn, a celebrated journalist, decides to make a drastic move from her Boston home to the Louisiana Bayou.

Equipped with her day planner and timetable, Gwen's ordered and structured life comes apart when she meets Sheriff Shiloh Harper. (For starters, the man is FINE!) Little did she know her life would change -- so drastically. After their first encounter, Gwen nor Shiloh would ever be the same!

I love the way Ms. Alers writes. She gets you so involved with the characters, you can't help but feel as though you know them. Her love scenes are touching, sensual and leave me yearning for more. Since this book features both stories, read "Happily Ever After" first, then "A Time to Keep." You'll enjoy them both.

Thank you, Ms. Alers! Much respect.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovers on the Move, August 1, 2006
This review is from: A Time to Keep #15 (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Rochelle brings back unforgettable characters as well as introduces some new and exciting characters. Whoever thought that journalist Gwyn Taylor from Happily Ever After would move down south not only move down south but fall in love with a man from the south at that. This story is almost like a fair tale with a little suspense and a lot of action my only concern is if you are a Hideaway series reader that Rochelle wrote a few years back then this story should almost seem familiar if not the same. Both heroines are reporters, in the Cole series the hero was a doctor while in A Time To Keep the hero is a sheriff, they both take place in the Deep South, both heroines inherit houses they move from north to south, and they both meet their heroes in a time of distress. In the Hideaway Series, she freaks when the homeless man approaches her at the café and in A Time To Keep, the heroine gets stuck in a ditch.

Other than the minor repeat of the story line, the book was a decent read especially being able to read the starting story or the plot setter. I should say she did her usual when it came to the hero he was simply the bomb. Ms Alers has written many great books this one could have been a better book had it not been for the repeat of the past book but I will defiantly look forward to Aler's next book.

As usual, Rochelle Alers has worked her magic and created another masterpiece. The characters are exciting and inviting. Alers captures your attention and does not let it go. At the end of the story, you wish that there was still much, much, more!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the story, rather sweet better than the prequel, October 3, 2006
This review is from: A Time to Keep #15 (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Wonderful characters, great love story if there is a real Shiloh Harper type guy down there in the bayou I would love to meet him. This story stands on its own and is better than the prequel. (I did not really get into it)
I like romance books with at least a hint of realism in the plot and even tho this all takes place in 3 months I did enjoy it, especially the handcuff scene - so sweet, romantic and sexy!

A Time To Keep has all you would want in a book. I laughed so hard at times I had to put it down. The only other words for this book is Ms. Alers "put her foot in this one". An excellent read when it comes to romance, mystery and who done it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well...., January 5, 2012
This review is from: A Time to Keep #15 (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I am an avid Rochelle Alers fan, however, in comparison to her other works this book just does not compare at all. The pace of the book is too slow and for it just was not attention grabbing enough. I started to skim through the pages to get to the juicy stuff, but the juicy stuff never appeared. In my opinion, this was not one of her best, but I truly expected it to be. After reading the majority of the Hideaway saga, this book does not hold a candle to the flames of those story lines.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Time to Keep, December 30, 2008

For the past five years, Lauren Taylor had been keeping a secret from her ex-husband, Cal Samuels. And, if it had not been for a will reading, Cal would have never discovered her secret.

A father! Thanks to his deceased grandfather, Cal Samuels learned that he had a son. Four missed years out of his son's life - well no more! Cal was determined to be a part of his son's life. And, it didn't hurt matters that Cal's grandfather left a potion of his monetary legacy to his great-grandson with the stipulation that in order to collect, Cal and Lauren had to marry within sixty days and remain married for an entire year.

Happily Ever After - oh what a fantastic title! With a label like that, I knew that I was in for a great romantic treat. This story was jam-packed with emotional turmoil and a love that never truly died. Here was a couple, living in the moment on a romantic island, who got married too quickly without any thoughts of tomorrow. Once Lauren arrived back home and reality struck, she had second thoughts and realized that marriage was not something that she really wanted. And, because Cal loved Lauren with all his heart, he couldn't force her to remain in an unwanted marriage. Now, five years later things had changed and this time Cal was determined to hold onto Lauren and his son by any means necessary. Fans who get pleasure from `a second chance at love' type of story will find Happily Ever After a heartwarming, enjoyable read. By the end of Happily Ever After I was smiling with glee and very happy with the outcome.

Fantastic chemistry between both couples. I loved this 2-in-1 novel because of the storyline, the characters and just the fact that the novel grabbed a hold of my attention like a vice grip. Awesome storytelling Ms. Alers.
