Excellent, excellent excellent. A cd for the hip hop purist. Original rhymes and styles along with beats that pounds. Hypnotic even. "Classic Material wall to wall"

This LP is tight..its on a differant tip to their debut set..this time around they touch upon much more complex issues and it ain't easy to understand the lyrics 1st time round cos they got cryptic meanings to em..definately ahead of its time and a classic in its own right..the beats are banging as well so definately check it out.

a canonical hip hop album... don't sleep,

One of the more sonically aggressive and conceptually abstract hip hop albums ever released, completely unappreciated by the mainstream hip hop community of its era. The Source magazine review gave it some embarrassingly low rating. Although this is an intelligent rapper's album, some said TIME was too hardcore for the people, and this in a day when street cred was already being measured primarily in terms of number of threats of violence issued rather than musical talent. This misunderstanding might be due to the fact that the beats and vocals are so SLAMMING they don't sound dated as of late 2004. Certainly it is not dance-floor-friendly to the college bar set, but it will consistently motiv8 those who love intensity. I am still feenin 4 this album ten years l8r. Busta Rhymes was already innovating beyond consumer comprehension on the LONS album which preceded this one. If musical innovation excites you, get this album. If you like this material you need to check Divine Styler's rare "Spiral Walls..." and Dizzie Rascal's releases. Sleep is the cousin of death, so just don't do it.

Intelligent Masterpiece,

One of the most complex intelligent Hip Hop albums ever. You have to read along with the lyric book to get the full meaning of the songs. Full of metaphors and takes some deciphering. This album went over the heads of the average hip hop fan of that era. Way ahead of its time.

The most complex hip-hop CD I've ever heard,
By Curtis (Indianapolis, Indiana) - See all my reviews

This is my all time favorite hip-hip CD EVER! I'm so afraid of losing this CD or it going out of print, that I made backup copies on CD-R disc and upload the album as an MP3 files on my computer. I'm attracted to complex music sounds and this album covers that base. The soundscape is so rich with complex breaks, basslines, jazz horn samples, beats and "bells-and-whistles" that you need high quality headphones to appreciate it. The lyrics are very complex. I read the lyrics to the songs off this album and WHOA, it was too much to comprehind... It's advanced poetry in the form of "lyrics" This album by L.O.N.S. is the true meaning of underground hip-hop in it's purist form. I'm amazed very few people that listens to hip-hop has heard of this group, even with Busta Rhymes in it. This group has simular styles to A Tribe Called Quest, Hyroglyphics (a.k.a. Souls of Mischief)which I love, because of it's jazz based flavor. They filled every empty space with noise in every song, you will never be bored with it's clever and unpredictable effects. You MUST listen to this CD with HEADPHONES, it's too complex for speakers, you'll miss ALOT!

Thinking of talk on the New School vs Old School in 1993 - nostalgic in 2010. If you're on the Westcoast, this is stylistically similar to Free Style Fellowship with higher fidelity track production. Each MC switches up styles and as a group there is great enthusiasm. It's party music that's got content beyond hooks. It's great to finally hear this album on CD as opposed to cassette.

Definitve Golden Era Album,

This album is one of the most interesting, creative and up-beat hip-hop releases of all time.
Each of the 3 M.Cs have their own unique style. Dinco has the more relaxed typical rap style, Charlie B has a unique style where he randomly emphasizes words or sylables with his booming voice, and ofcourse Busta Rhymes just explodes all over the track with his fast paced growling. Milo even adds a little reggae touch to the lyrical content. The production is amazing. Heavy bass loops, funky sound effects and even some jazzy elements make for a brilliant array of beats. The genuine early 90s production style is captured perfectly on this album. An undeniable classic.

I like this release much better than the first one. The first was entirely too silly for me and I didn't like the delivery of the rhymes on that one. On this album the emcees are using the style similar to what really made them dope on A tribe called quest's the scenario song. all of the songs on this album have that same hype energy like they had on the Scenario. This album has a better delivery of style, displays a more animated Busta (more like we know him now) and the other two emcees seem to have matured more with their rhymes on this release. Overall the second release in my opinion is much better than the first.
