Why is this listed as Steve Fromholz on Google, etc.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Time Lines (Audio CD)
Twice, I ordered "Steve Fromholz: Live at Anderson Fair" on CD, once from another vendor, and once from Amazon. Both times, I received "timelines" by Darrel Tidaback. Steve Fromholz is not featured on the CD anywhere. The first vendor refunded my money and told me to keep the CD I received. Amazon sent me a return label and refunded my money. Tonight, I Googled Steve Fromholz again and was directed to Amazon once more. This time, Amazon got the right title (timelines)on their page, but the price has gone from $17 to $99. I don't know how this CD has been confused with Steve Fromholz, but I am not impressed. As information, I wouldn't buy this CD for $17, and I sure wouldn't buy it for $99.

Just last week, Dec. 2010, I ordered Steven Fromholz' CD, Live At the Anderson Fair and received Timelines instead. I am not interested in Timelines, don't know how or why I received it but am upset about the inconvenience.

I first heard "First Flight" on a college radio station (KEWU-FM) while driving in Spokane, Washington. I loved it, and pulled over to call in and ask about the artist and the album. (Let us all take a moment to say a quick thanks to college radio stations everywhere that play music like this.) As a real fan of various Bill Evans trios, I instantly loved this music and it spoke to me on many levels. The CD is evenly split between up-tempo pieces and slower, more emotional and introspective tunes. There's a lot to like but frankly, I thought the bass part was mixed too far "forward". Too much bass! I had to turn down my bass levels to play this accurately. Also, the first cut on the CD, "Bossa Tres" was inexplicably faded out near the end of the song. I found that extremely strange and poorly done. But as the CD played on, I was a little more forgiving. There's a lot to like on this CD, which was recorded in 1994 but has the fresh and vibrant sound that felt like it could have been a studio session just a week ago. There was a symbiosis of musicians that could have been explored more thoroughly in future sessions, if not for the untimely passing of pianist Dave Catney. I'm going to explore his music more thoroughly in the future, as well as that of the other fine musicians on this recording.
