5.0 out of 5 stars Commercial good music
There are many things I could say about this album, I'll try to do it in the best English I know: I think it demonstrates that commercial music can be also good. The production is very good, everytime you listen to the songs you can hear more and more instruments playing, sometimes it feels like a kind of "modern orchestra" is playing the music (I am sure you'll feel like...

2.0 out of 5 stars Oh, the agony!!
I have heard so many people extoll the virtues of Boltons singing. Am I the only one who things that he sounds like he's in pain while singing? It sounds like his balls are caught in a vice grip. And as if that's not enough, track 3 "Missing you now", has Kenny G contributing his soprano sax to the melange. So now not only do you have Boltons agonizingly,...

There are many things I could say about this album, I'll try to do it in the best English I know: I think it demonstrates that commercial music can be also good. The production is very good, everytime you listen to the songs you can hear more and more instruments playing, sometimes it feels like a kind of "modern orchestra" is playing the music (I am sure you'll feel like this when you listen to the title song called "Time, love and tenderness", it's one of Michael's most famous song and one of my favourites. I found influences of rock, pop and gospel in this song, in fact Michael has done a lot of black music and his songs that have gospel choirs are part of his label, and to me the best ones!). BY THE WAY, if you like this album you will love Celine Dion's album called also "Celine Dion", it was released a year after and Walter Afanasieff and Diane Warren also collaborated on it, these great artists have also good collaborators!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal(Tired Of The Bolton Bashing), October 21, 2009
This review is from: Time Love & Tenderness (Audio CD)
Jealousy is a very ugly thing
people dont hate Michael Bolton cause he cant sing
they hate him because can.

The man can sing his ass off and i know real singers when i hear them.

I cant stand people who like to promote stereotypes
and the stereotype has always been that white singers didnt have as much soul as black singers
but that theory has been blown out the water

By Micael Bolton and Michael McDonald.

My black peers couldent stand Mr Bolton because he could and im sure still can hold his own against any black singer... hell the man dueted with Patti Labelle and held his own.. thats saying something.

Some whites couldent stand him because rather than overlook and disregard the contributions to music by African Americans as others have tried to for so long MB chose to acknowledge those artist and if yall read your history you would know that MB has written songs for a number of Black Artist which include

Patti Labelle and Peabo Bryson.

and rumor has it that Ne-Yo will make a contribution to MB's already stellar Catalog.

Now if they dont have a problem with it then why do you.

Time Love and Tenderness is a Great Album

MB is a great singer/songwriter

and "Missing You Now" is a great song and one of my personal favorities.

4.0 out of 5 stars Either you'll love it or hate it...it's a # 1 smash, August 20, 2001
By
This review is from: Time Love & Tenderness (Audio CD)
If my memory serves well, this is the only michael's album that ever achived the coveted spot of the US top 200 album back in 1991. I guess the fact that michael put together an incredible string of excellent compositions did the trick in the first place, then add the fact that he got some very special guests as Patti LaBelle and Kenny G on the performing side and Bob Dylan on the writing one, and you'll see why this got so way up high on the charts... Strangely enough my favourite tracks are some that did not make it as singles: WE'RE NOT MAKING LOVE ANYMORE and FOREVER ISN'T LONG ENOUGH, while the Diane Warren-penned title track is just awesome in its own right. It's a fact that Bolton is the kind of performer you either like or hate, but if this reached # 1, it means that something's gotta give...

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Is Wonderful, February 4, 2003
This review is from: Time Love & Tenderness (Audio CD)
For Michael Bolton, 1991 proved to be a very exciting year for him. He had already proven himself with his Soul Provider tour, and now he was going to do it all over again. It is just kind of sad that the critics were giving him the gong, like the judges on The Gong Show. However, that kind of music is actually very good to hear, then Britney Spears and her raunchy appeal anyday.

Time, Love & Tenderness, proved to be Michael Bolton's most successful record, selling over 6 million copies. The album has some of the most fierce songs of his career, including Time, Love & Tenderness, Missing You Now, and We're Not Making Love Anymore, a underrated duet with Patti LaBelle. Unfortunately, a lot of stores stopped carrying the record for one simple reason. The song, Love Is A Wonderful Thing, sampled a song written by The Isley Brothers. At the time, sampling was notorious in the industry, with Vanilla Ice, and M.C. Hammer, scoring hits that were sampled by other artists. Unfortunately, The Isley Brothers sued Michael Bolton, and won their case. As a result, Time, Love & Tenderness is no longer being sold anywhere.

It is kind of sad that people still don't show that respect to Michael Bolton in the music industry anymore, people would just rather see Britney Spears on the cover of Playboy anyday. However, if you are a true Michael Bolton fan, then this album is a must have for all those tough times. If not, then it'll be a great introduction to his soulful style.

This is Michael Bolton's all-time best and most successful CD. The timeless ballad "Missing You Now" is one of the best torch songs ever recorded and easily justifies buying this CD. Other key tracks include "We're Not Making Love Anymore" (superb duet with Patti LaBelle), "New Love" and the sublime "Forever Isn't Long Enough". None of Michael Bolton's subsequent releases could match this one's greatness but "Time, Love And Tenderness" is an indispensable CD for any fan of emotive and romantic music.

I love every track of this CD. Specially, 'Missing you now', 'Now that I found you' and 'We're not making love anymore'. He sounds so perfect for me and I completely leave everything when anybody plays his song. Great lyrics, perfect pitch and absolutely worthy CD to buy. ITS SUPERB and deserves more than 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Michael's second hit provider, February 18, 2004

Michael Bolton achieved and enjoyed so much success from sales of SOUL PROVIDER. Here is his second megahit which spawned five Top 10 hits. They are the title track,LOVE IS A WONDERFUL THING(not on GREATEST HITS 1985-1995),MISSING YOU NOW,which was another joint project for Bolton and Kenny G,a cover of WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN(a hit for Percy Sledge),and STEEL BARS. Released in spring 1991,this album sold 2 million copies thru spring 1992! After this album,Bolton would have no more megahits.

So now not only do you have Boltons agonizingly, excrutiatingly painful singing, but you have a screaming sax to accompany him. I would have only given it one star...but the extra star is for Patti LaBelle, the only good thing on this album.

1.0 out of 5 stars Time, Love & Tenderness The Best of Michael Bolton, December 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This would've been a great CD if it was the one I had ordered. I ordered Time, Love & Tenderness 1991 and cdgiveaways sent me the 2009 version. Very disappointed. Tried to leave feedback but wouldn't allow it. If the 1991 CD wasn't available, cdgiveaways shouldn't say that it is. Amazon needs to check on their third party sellers.

This cd rocks! It is always in the cd player in my Tucson. Listening to it reminds me of the time my mom and sister went with me to Starlake to see him live in concert. We rocked out together, what great memories:) And now listening to my favorite song, 'When a man loves a woman', makes me think of my man (Love Ya Y.D.) I can't help but sing along to every track. I wish he would tour again. I only hope that I can convince my fiance to grow his hair out like Michael's, oh how I would love to run my fingers through it.
