Barrie Hopson's current portfolio career includes...being chairman of Axia Interactive Media, a non-executive director of two other companies, writer, presenter, consultant and chair of his local community association. He has a long history of involvement in the area of career development. He established the Counselling and Career Development Unit at Leeds University in 1976 and subsequently went on to found Lifeskills International, 3 other companies in the UK and one in the USA.

He is a fellow of the British Psychological Society and of the British Institute of Management.

Barrie has written 39 books including the bestselling 12 Steps to Success through Service, The Lifeskills Teaching Programmes and Build Your Own Rainbow, The Rainbow Years: the Pluses of Being 50+ and an accompanying website .The latter were all co-authored with Mike Scally.

His latest book is 'And What Do You Do? 10 Steps to Creating a Portfolio Career', written with Katie Ledger. The accompanying website is www.portfoliocareers.net

Barrie has worked widely as a consultant to commercial and educational organisations in the UK, US, Asia, Canada and Europe. He is married with two grown-up children, two small but disarming grandchildren and sees one of the major payoffs of his portfolio career as being able to follow Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
