From School Library Journal
PreSchool-K-With his father's help, a young wolf cub gets ready for bed-he bathes, brushes his teeth and fur, puts on pajamas, and is tucked in. With its chantlike rhythm, this cumulative rhyme will appeal to even the most reluctant bed-goers. Janovitz's cartoonlike illustrations, done in watercolors and soft colored pencils, add charm to the words. The technique of using stark white as a background is successful in helping the pictures truly stand out. A whimsical bedtime choice.

Ages 2-5. Bedtime and bath time are perennially hot topics for preschool story times. This book, with a simple, jaunty text and expressive, economical drawings, will fill the double bill for cozy-sized groups as well as lap use. A wolf cub asks his papa, "Is it time to run the tub?" "Yes, it's time to run the tub." "Is it time to rub-a-dub-dub?" "Yes, it's time to rub-a-dub-dub." A catchy refrain builds as the two go from brushing fangs and combing bangs to dressing for bed and tucking in Ted. The clean, soft pencil and watercolor pictures strike a good balance between the characters' wolfish qualities and more human ones. The verbal repetition also makes this a pleasing choice for novice readers.
